<grin> Glad to make others smile!
It seems Merry Andrew is coming to San Francisco to our second gathering in late August.

And that made you smile, c.i.?
So this is my 3,500th post here since 1 December, 2002. I wish I had something pithy to say, but I don't. I am just sitting here, comtemplating my navel.
While you are so engaged, johnboy, reflect on the fact that the wife and I will be in Charlottesville on the 12th of next month. I'll send details as the time approaches. Feel like meeting for lunch?
Just saw hamburger's post about Master Junior Rabbit. That made me smile.
This morning I got a birthday email from one of hamburger's childhood friends - that made me grin big.
ehbeth: a birthday, you say, eh? Did we know about that?
cowdoc: if you would like to pm me with a mailing address, I would be happy to send you brochures of attractions in C'ville.
ehBeth made me smile today
rjb - setanta and hamburger made sure I couldn't forget about my birthday
I'm smiling because after the storm came through yesterday, the air here has felt absolutely silken. So so nice.
A sales rep came into my shop today. I normally have only a cursory interaction with reps. I have buyers who handle that part of the business. But my buyer was next door at the dentist and it was lasting a bit longer than expected. So I chatted with Richard. Turns out that he, who might be 60, was born and raised in NM. Silver City, or something like that. Thanks to Dys and Diane and Osso, I could talk a little bit about NM, which I might have hitched through at some point in my youth. But I don't remember that.
He started talking about the geography of the region and about the incredible native american places he knew of from 40 or 50 years ago. Stories spilled out of him.
And then I mentioned my dad who, before he died, said that someday he would like to go back to that part of the country and see the "desert in bloom." He had seen it once, 80 years ago.
Richard took off with that, describing what a magnificent thing that is to witness.
Just sitting out on my little patio, looking at my flowers. In the twilight, the purple petunias looked like ......Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuue Vel vet
(t/m Bobby whatisname) Oh, yeah....Vinton...
Hey, good for you, babe!
Did I tell yall my bus stop story? Feel free to say yes even if you haven't heard it. I do tend to go on a bit.
I'm game. Do tell, rjb...
I want to know if the bus stop came from the sales rep from New Mexico.
I have not heard your bus stop story. I'm all ears. (Or whatever the comparable virtual version of that would be.)
Yalls's only salvation is to have Nimh write one of his lyrical stories about the music and girls of Budapest. Failing that, I have in my head a long, long story. Save us, Nimh.
Oh but we really, really want to hear the bus story, rjb!
