You sound so maternal, soz. So concerned and helpful.

You are always there for people.

Just don't call me matronizing, Gus, or you'll get a wallop on the head with a cast-iron skillet...

Dorothy, as a fan of Mr. Nelson you probably know that he's a Minneapolis boy, and that's my hometown. That's what I was going on about -- when I was a teenager (I was born in 1970) I'd go the club called "First Avenue" that was immortalized in the movie "Purple Rain." I saw his purple limo drive by once or twice.

B and I returned home from our trip to the Rocky Mountains. The old home felt pretty good...just the right chair...the king sized mattress...soaking in the tub. Ahhhhh! Can you see the grin?

Simple stuff. I found a new cool web gadget thingie: protopage.com

Its very cool. Very practical. Much better than My Yahoo. Its like you have a whiteboard that you can stick things on: news feeds, webpages (like, actual "windows" to the webpage in question), links/bookmarks, "sticky notes", photos, weather -- and you can just freely move all of those around on the page (or more pages if you want) as you feel like, like they're post-its.

So I immediately spent too much time making a page .. its a cool thing, yeah! <nods>

Also, having spent all day inside & not spent any money, I splurged for this Sat night on my own and sat outside under the trees at the K.S. restaurant around the corner, now that its still mellow out in the evening. Had a proper meal, everything - fruit soup, pasta, dessert..

Yesterday, I decided to color my hair myself, which I hadn't done in several years, preferring to pay for the safety of a salon professional, but the color came out way too dark. So I went to Sally's to look for a color-stripper and the saleslady talked me out of purchasing one since I'm not a professional and, against my better knowledge, talked me into purchasing a lighter color dye instead. It did nothing but make my too dark hair even darker, which I didn't even think was possible.

This morning, I went back to Sally's and purchased the color-stripper that Miss Thing talked me out of yesterday. It's called One N' Only Colorfix. I came home and altho' terrified, I used it. Guess what? My hair color came out great!

I think I just saw a first kiss!! Too sweet for words. I was cleaning and looked out the front window and saw, down the street, a teenage girl and boy walking out to his car. He opened the door and got something -- he was nervous and fumbly as he retrieved the object. She was calm and neutral, just seemed to be waiting to get into the car. It was a record -- like, vinyl, in a big square package (don't they look huge these days?), and he rotated it nervously as he told her something about it. He was a little taller but standing on the street, she was on the curb -- as he told her about it all the sudden she leaned forward and kissed him! On the mouth but quick. His reaction was very surprised -- he was just kinda "wha...!" as she leaned back. Then he tried to recover and said a few more things and she took the record and looked so touched and then hugged him and then they kissed a real kiss, and I figured it was time to vamoose and leave them to it.

Soooo sweet.

More of a tired guffaw thing:

My landlady came round to collect the cash for this month's rent - she's about the same age as me, lives and runs the business together with her boyfriend. I looked sleepy, cause well, I'd still been asleep - havent slept much this week and last night had a big row on the telephone over money matters that ended in tears (just like the good old days).

Anyway, she took one look around and at me, put her hand on the table and said, nimh, you need to sleep more, and eat more, and do some cleaning here - and stop being too nice!

Heh. Hungarian women.

Last weekend at the local fair, I ran into a guy that I used to have a huge crush on in high school. The problem was back then, I was a freshman and he was a senior. While he was always nice to me, we never did go out. He graduated, and that was pretty much the end of that.

Only I think I must have secretely been still carrying this crush around because while we were talking, I could still feel the butterflies that he always used to give me. Embarrassed

Ends up, he's not married! Well, he was but he's not anymore. Soooooooooo .......we exchanged phone numbers and have talked every day since. Last night we went out and it couldn't have been a more perfect date.

I don't know if this will go anywhere, and I'm not thinking that far ahead. It was just nice to go out with someone as sweet as he is.

Still smiling Very Happy
