Great to see you back, Kicky.
kicky is a guy from New York who used to hang around this site.
No one paid much attention to him.
Kicky left for awhile. Can't remember why. Something to do with getting kicked out of his apartment, or was it his girl friend's apartment in NYC.
Then Dys stopped posting for awhile.
And Gus announced that he was leaving A2K and we all got weepy about that for a day or so. But now he seems to be back.
What is going on with yall?
Are Nimh and johnboy the only sane characters left here?
Umm...
youre on your own there, johnboy..

No, there's me, too! Very sane indeed, I am!
Indeed, msolga. I haven't kept up with the Aussie threads. Waiting for the collapse of the current gov't there, though, with much anticipation. Aussie politics is weird and you report it well.
-johnboy-
I won in Scrabble today. My friend and I are tied 2 - 2.
Thanks for the compliment, RJB!
That made me smile!
For that thread where songs are reworked to be about A2K'ers I was thinking of doing Morris Day and the Time's "The Bird" and making it about timber. (Not enough lyrics to mess with really, too many "Whawk!"s and "halleluiah!"s
), then had the bright idea to look it up on YouTube, and have been grinning for the last five minutes.

Minneapolis sound, baby!
I had no idea how lucky I was to be a teenager in Minneapolis in the mid to late 80's.
Did you ever go to the nightclub featured in "Purple Rain"?
Oh yeah!
First Avenue and Seventh Street Entry.
I mostly went for more minor upcoming bands, but went there regularly, from way before I was legal.
I went there for the music, not to drink or get in trouble, and the doorpeople knew that and let me through.
cleo and bailey arrived about an hour ago ... they always make us smile !
hbg
(ehbeth and set arrived in the same car
)

Ahh ... those were the days
I'm not sure if the Sozlet would approve though -- it's not exactly country.
Heh!
I'll show her the video later, I'll let you know what she thinks.
I tried to interest her in some Prince a while ago though and she wasn't impressed. Hmph.
eoe, "Purple Rain" has seriously messed with my memories -- I know that when I saw it I kept saying "oh look, that's where ___!" when it showed First Avenue and I recognized various places, but there are other "memories" that I have that I'm not sure whether they're original or due to too many PR viewings!
PR came out in 1985 I think, I was 14 then, I think (not sure) I'd gone a couple of times already but didn't go a lot until later on.
hamburger, typical grandpa! Hi to all. :-)
Thumbs down on "The Bird." :-(
The only 80's videos I've shown her that she likes so far (or at least likes enough to request again) are Miami Sound Machine's "Dr. Beat," A-Ha's "Take on Me" (I know I know) and B-52's "Love Shack." Hmmm.
Both Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul had real fun videos back then that little kids would dig, I'd think. Also...Janet's big brother. Remember his "Leave Me Alone" video? A delight.
But, if you don't want him in the house...that's understandable too.
Yesterday, conference call. Three of us, colleague in Prague and the head of partner office in London.
Good thing about conference calls is they cant see what you're doing.
My colleague got bored, we've just moved into new rooms, things still in boxes. So she started putting together this little cart that was still in the Ikea box. My boss grinning and rolling her eyes, putting her finger to her lips going "sshh!"
A BEKVÄM it was. I think she got it almost finished too (it was a long call)
