Whatever you do, don't tell Miss Kris about the towing company.

We'll never get her back to NYC.

I apologize for not participating in the bantering. I enjoy this thread for the little vignettes. I certainly can't keep up with nimh. Charlottesville VA aint quite Amsterdam or his new home in Hungary.
Anyway, one of my employees asked me about a week ago if there was anything, absolutely anything, that we could find for his 16 year old stepson to do to get him off the couch now that school is out. We came up with some chores and a schedule he had to stick to, And yesterday he got his very first pay check. $146.98 in total. At quittting time he went racing off and blew it all on a pair of combat type boots that fit into his goth-like style. But when he got home, Kevin was very proud of his boots and, for the first time in his life, he had paid for them with his own money.
Do yall remember your first paycheck?

What a grin-inspiring dog he is.
He's a non-stop vocalizer.
He squeaks.

Very Happy

Isn't he a sweet puppy, pragmatic?

I can hardly wait to introduce Bailey to him. Bailey's best friend, Scout, lived with Magic's owner until he died 2 years ago yesterday.

Bailey and Scout when they were both just young dogs.

Scout and Magic's owner obviously has a good eye for dogs -- both have great friendly expressive faces.

Soz, the most amazing thing is that Scout was a rescue. The reason his front legs are curved the way they are, in the photo with Bailey, is that he was kept in a too small crate when he was very young. Jackie loved him, and trained him, until only the good happy part of him was left.

This new fella's from a champion breeder, and he is such a goony baby.

Prag, my pupsters need love more than care, and they'd be delighted to meet another fan of canines.

beth, you REALLY want me to get a rescue dog, don't you? ;-) (If so, you might get your wish, though still unlikely -- I've entered phase one of "convince E.G. to get a doggie" and need to keep things as simple as possible.)

Very Happy

Just look at that pic of those two happy rescue dogs, soz.

That photo has so many stories in it. Scout had been trained not to play rough with small things - toys, dogs, cats, babies, hands ... whatever. Bailey had just stolen one of Scout's little stuffed toys<it is tucked between Bailey's paws>, and poor Scout couldn't do anything about it - was hoping one of the two-legged dogs would help him - he wanted his dolly back, but he couldn't/wouldn't push Bailey around.

One of my dogs was rescued from a life of neglect. She is the most well-behaved dog I've ever known. Very calm, loyal and good-natured.

What made me smile last night? A yard full of fireflies.

Synonymph, people who save and love animals and appreciate fireflies are very special people.
