Drove 125 miles to the state piano competition with hubby, son & new doggie in tow. Son had qualified for the second year in a row. He was VERY nervous before playing...especially when he saw he would have to play on a Steinway grand! YIKES...but said later that once he started playing, it immediately relaxed him. That really made me smile.

Oh, and when the judge gave him a "1", I smiled even more! They're judged on a score from 1+ (highest) to 4 (lowest). Very proud mama here.

I got an email this morning from an old friend from Paris
whom I haven't seen or heard from in 15 years. Needless
to say, that made my Monday morning quite pleasurable. Wink

By the way, Raymond really looks rather charming.
I think he's more of a ladies man Prince.....

Will do, piff.

Raymond got quite a kick out of what he read earlier today.

(maybe he'll even come join us here sometime, if Daddy Duty allows any time)

I bought two flats of mums, and planted one today. Don't know when that other flat will get planted, but it'll have to be within the next couple of days.

My younger brother called me for the second time in about seven years. Miracles never ceases to happen - if we live long enough. Asked him when we'll have our next sibling brunch, and he said - maybe in the fall. Wink Made me smile.

Had dinner with the hamburgers tonight.
They're in town for the 49th wedding anniversary.

We're planning to spend part of tomorrow together going to Doors Open Toronto.

http://www.doorsopen.org/

As I haven't been feeling all that well, it was decided that we should call each other in the morning to confirm that we'd all be at the meeting spot at the right time. The hamburgers have a new cell phone. It's a bit, errrrrrrr, feature-filled. After 20 minutes, I figured out how to make a call on that phone. Confused

Then hamburger and I spent five minutes in the restaurant calling each other.

Hello. Hello. Can you hear me? Yes, I can hear you. I mean over the phone. Yes, I can hear you over the phone. OK. Bye. Bye. Signing off. Bye.

Hello. Hello. ....

Hello. Hello. ....

Two cellphones, one table in a restaurant. Two long-distance bills.

<shaking head and laughing>
