A few weeks ago I emailed the president of our company nominating myself for to head up all of marketing (I'd been in charge of the online marketing but wanted to do more). I received no response and I thought he might have felt it was presumptuous.

Yesterday, I got the job and a raise. It made me smile. I've been lucky in that the last two CEOs I have worked for have not cared a whit about my lack of education.

<I'm smiling cuz I tricked the dogs into eating their special dental kibble by putting it in the treat bucket, and hand feeding it to them. Ha! Fooled ya, suckers!>

Wow, congratulations! On the chutzpah, knowing your own price, and standing by it! Not that your selection and a raise come as a surprise. so, will you be even more busy now?

Fantastic Craven. Makes everyone smile, that does.

Sounds as though they want knowledge and ability rather than pieces of paper.

Craven, that is great news. Congratulations to you...and to your boss who is smart enough to realize that a diploma may not be all that important if the employee knows what he is doing.

Congratulations, Craven! Good for you, going after what you want. Your boss is a smart man.

Diplomas just help you get your foot in the door. It's what you do once you're inside that really counts and, obviously, you've made a solid impression. Not that it would surprise anyone here, of course. You impressed all of us long ago.

Hope you're out celebrating as I write this!

Not quite sure whether it exactly made me smile ... but it's intrigeuing for a moment.

Plus, once you clicked all of them into movement, you get an effect that roughly feels like my mind on a bad day LOL Razz

Frames-soup

(Tip: once you get them going you can also use the "back" button to stop them again, instead of clicking on them individually again - that way you can switch faster)

What made me smile today?
I got a letter from UCAS saying that my final uni offer has come through (in the UK you apply to 6 unis through UCAS). So i've just written them back and signed my soul away to Oxford University, Britain's finest. Very Happy

Wow!

With the mojo flying around here, I'm applying for a job TODAY. (Now to find one to apply for -- so far it's been word of mouth, "I bet I can set something up for you" that hasn't yet come to fruition.)

I am going to the Cubs home opener tomorrow and got bleacher tickets. The tickets were supposed to be $125 a piece and I just found out that my friend was able to get them for free.
