I am not smiling yet, but I will be when C.I. remembers that he has given us a task on "Where am I?" and that we are waiting for his answers Wink

What made you smile today
It might sound a little cheesy but what made me smile tonight was that I told an elderly man how adorable he was and he smiled the biggest smile I had ever seen and I know that I made him happy so therefore I was happy.

I finished our tax returns; it's signed, dated, and sealed with our final payment to the IRS of $5,755 - - small refund from the state.

I was in the grocery today and saw an old man (probably my age) and he had on a vest with the words "Dysfuntional Vietnam Vet" across the back of his vest. I went up to him shook his hand and said "we could start a club" He looked at me and smiled and said "I don't go to meetings."

hotsauce, I've been retired since 1998, and my major source of outside income is my social security which is being 80 percent taxed. Kids don't save taxpayers money; they end up costing much more than the deduction allowed for them on tax returns.

Well the day started off on an interesting note. I had just got on to my favorite website (a2k) when the birds outside kicked up a fuss. The feeder is right outside the window so I peeked around the computer to see five bluejays and a mob of sparrows. There was plenty of food in the feeder so I didn't know what was wrong with them. As you in Massachusetts know it snowed last night. So being a good dooby I pulled on my boots and out to the porch I went. When I reached the feeder I saw a sheet of ice covering the bottom. The birds couldn't reach the food. Back to the kitchen I went. I filled a cereal bowl with birdfeed and placed it below the feeder. In they came. And as you say, it put a smile on my face.

That reminded me of a story. I was over a friends house, standing in the back yard, and 3 bluejays were dive bombing/chasing a cat across the yard, the cat was trying to run away but the blujays were relentless, they wanted the cat OUT of their territory, there was no letting up until the cat was out of the back yard.

Perhaps the bluejays were protecting a nest? They were vicious! Laughing

That was the first, and only time, I have ever seen birds chase a cat, different.

Playing with our dog, Sally. We picked her up at a pound (shelter) about three months ago. She didn't know how to play! I was amazed that this adorable little thing didn't know how to play. If I rolled a ball toward her, she would watch it roll past without doing anything. Now she won't stop! She is a Jack Russell/Corgi mix with all the personality and energy of both breeds. It's as if she is smiling, laughing at finally feeling the joy of playing and love. Big smile.
