I think I've told you all that I inspect wastewater treatment plants for a living. It's no the most glamorous job, but it's interesting. Anyway, today I was at a small mobile home park trying to determine if the wastewater plant was running. It had been broken for a while. A lady came over and said, "Can I help you?" I said I was with the Department of Natural Resources and I was just looking at the plant to make sure it was running properly. She gave me a big grin, put her arms around me and said, "Oh thank you."

Made my day. I don't get a lot of hugs at work.

There was hot girl at the gym today.



Worked for me.

When a friend who'd lost a wonderful dog last year showed me a picture of her new puppy. awww.

oh, and when eoe told me about the movie count down!!

Left a small shopping bag on the bus coming home tonight.

Ran home, let the dogs out and back in, ran to the bus stop going the opposite direction, the bus came,
"I left a Shoppers Drug Mart bag on the bus" <hopeful tone and smile>.

"Here you go".

Nice people in this city make me smile.
I'm going to need those chocolate bars eventually.

It IS good when something like that happens, ehBeth. .. and that's the way things should happen. I've had a similar experience (purse, credit cards, everything lost! ) & was just so relieved, grateful & elated when some good soul did the right thing!

I'm struggling a bit with how very happy that little incident made me. Have I started to expect the worst of people? I hope not.

neighbour's dog (annie) came over twice today to see if any treats might be available ... of course, there were treats. she seemed to be quite happy, took her treats, rolled in the snow and waited patiently for belly scratch and with a grin on her face - i swear she grins - marched back home again. also managed to switch to a new internet provider today. i ran into a few problems but eventually managed to sign up. i sent an email message to let them know that i was not happy with their automated phone service. at noon i received a call from one of the techies asking if i wanted to sign up. told him i had signed up already - without being asked for account information. he could not understand how i managed to get into their system. seems i have the skills to break into a 'secure' system - just don't ask me how i did it. hbg

Unexpected package with goodies for the family from my friend who has been traveling in Africa for the last several months. Beautiful little purse for me, beaded necklace for kid, potato print on a little (~8 inch) square of fabric for E.G. So that was fun, itself. But then also the necklace was wrapped in some newspaper -- at first I couldn't tell what nationality. It's in English, and one side is a car ad, "Motor Centre/ Toyota Certified Used." Hmm. Turned it over and it's some sort of classified section. Scan over "qualified electricians" and "Winter discounts at on all courses" to "TWO HERDMEN & herladies wanted." Made me smile. The stamps on the envelope, too.

I went about my rounds as an electric and gas meter reader today, as usual.....

....when I went into one yard and a beautiful black and white cat came literally running up to me, meowing, purring, rubbing up on me. A lovely, friendly, and very animated little feline.

It's the little things in life.....

Took a vacation day today. (Just because)

So my smile came when I woke up to the sun streaming across my bedroom and knowing I didn't wake up to the sound of my alarm and I get to be lazy today.

My kitten made me smile, then I had to go to hell (work)

I got a little morning lovin'... that always makes me smile:)
