Last night, Mr.P climbs into bed, turns off the light, and whispers, "I don't know if I can sleep, it feels like it's almost Christmas."

"Huh?" sez I... nearly asleep.

"The election, the election. I'm excited about the election tomorrow."

Am I married to a political junkie or what?

Haha, that's what I'm afraid of cjhsa - that you're not
the only one.

I had to smile when I approached the voting place this
morning. The line was very long and I could count
at least 40 people waiting to vote.

I've never seen such a long line. Usually there are
4 or 5 people there - tops!

So I hope, this will be the best voter turnout ever!!

And I'll keep smiling! Smile

Just voted. What I loved most was the number of young people in line. An older woman commented "I'd like to vote against those baggy pants hanging off of that boys' ass."
Made me smile...well, more like a snicker...

They offered a yoga class at lunch here today.
Smiled at all my co-workers doing the downward dog.
We're reeeeeeeeeeeeeelaxed now.

Namaste.

BBB
Blatham and Lola are visiting Dyslexia and Diane for a few days. We all went out to dinner Halloween Sunday night. It was wonderful to spend some time with Blatham and Lola and we had a great time.

After dinner, the four of them came to my house to see my new Shih Tzu puppy. Diane longs to to get a dog of her own.

I smiled at a voter who was on his way in when I was on my way out. Cute guy and he must live in my neighborhood. We had no line, no exit pollers, no tv crews, no challengers. One of the finer things about living in a solidly partisan state.

Wasn't today, it was last Friday, but I didn't report it...
I met my first Westie, at potential clients' house - now, on Tuesday, for sure clients. Damn, that is a cute dog. What a face: bemused, sardonic, friendly, startlingly interesting.

Not of course with the secure presence of the Pacc, but I'll look forward to our mapping that site..

grinning at Osso - In Sydney, a "Westie" is a sort of undesirable person who comes from the western suburbs, usually the far western suburbs, in the lowest socio-economic groups, - a sort of Australian version of trailer trash. It's a term of derision / disgust, used by those who live in the eastern or northern subuebs.

I live in the inner western suburbs, but described myself as a "Westie" to another Sydneysider in a travel forum I frequent. He lives on the north side of Sydney (nawshaw!) - very posh. I actually considered turning up in "Westie" uniform (filthy shirt, and ragged jeans, beard, ciggy, etc.) when I met him, but, as I was coming direct from work, it just seemed too much trouble! Had him worried, though!

I understand. Have some scruff sensibility/adherence about myself as well. Ah, I am a mixed bag.

I wasn't going to share this but...today is my mother's 83 birthday. She passed away in 2001 but, I'm still counting. Forever.

This is also my third anniversary of being nicotine-free. I quit smoking on my mother's birthday for substenance (she'd wanted me to quit, altho she smoked until rolled into the emergency room for the last time).

And it is also the third anniversary of turning in my resignation to my last 9-5 and once again, becoming my own boss. I've never looked back.

Nov. 2 is a big day for me.
