What made you smile today?

LATE NIGHTS IN THE NEW YORK AG'S OFFICE: I'm a huge fan of Eliot Spitzer and I think the folks in his office are really doing God's work, but this passage in today's Journal struck me as a little suspicious:

When Don Tellock, now 34, was a lawyer in the office working on privacy issues, he would surf the Internet in search of leads. On Thanksgiving weekend 2002, he was having trouble sleeping and ended up hunched over a computer at 4 a.m. That's when he came across a story on how personal information about Victoria's Secret customers was available on the lingerie company's Web site.

Hmmm... Hunched over a computer at 4 a.m. googling "Victoria's Secret" over and over. This does not strike me as what we in the business call a "billable hour."

The 3ft-tall 'hobbit' that rewrites the history of mankind

Scientists are celebrating the most important breakthrough in anthropology for a century: the discovery of a new species of apeman.

Described as human "hobbits", the apemen grew no taller than about 3ft and had brains the size of grapefruits. They lived alongside prehistoric man for thousands of years before they finally died out in the dense jungles of Indonesia, in a lost world inhabited by dwarf elephants and giant rats.
