You can spot the Canajuns, cuz they say 'eh' even when they're speakin' French.
Made me grin on the bus coming home tonight. Two young woman blah blah blahing all the way eh uh.
Being in San Diego, looking out over the bay and seeing Point Loma. Walking Bean to Balboa park to the dog play area and letting her loose to run and play.
My Friend David made me smile. Fresh blue berry muffins for breakfast, yum.
Seeing JoanneD smile is very smile-worthy.
Aww, love you too Beth, eh.
Walking the dogs tonight, saw one of my neighbours striding from the bus stop toward his house carrying flowers and smiling. I turned and looked at his house - it was sold today. Seeing a neighbour rushing to get home on a happy day - with flowers - it made me smile.
Quote:fortune, nicely written! thanks for neatly transmitting your smile to us.
Always glad to share a smile, nimh!
Mentioning TerryDoo and looking up an old Abuzz thread ... wasnt easy to find, but it was way cool to read it again (or read parts of it again, it was huge) - so funny!
Picture This
It takes a chaotic long while to start up, but once you get to where Terry, Kissthecook and Stoat really got going - like, the bottom half of the thread - wow!
Miss those kind of threads ...
Why did you leave Abuzz nimh?
Because it went to **** ... too many loonies, people who stole each others name, etc. Abuzz was owned by the NYT but they cut it off, all staff was fired, so no more moderators and then the ID-thiefs and other spooks could just run with it ...
A2K at first largely consisted of Abuzz refugees, tho Craven tried hard to lift the board out/over being just that. (I myself didnt go straight from one to the other, I was away for some time in between - actually posted a lot on the Livable Rotterdam forum, if you'll believe it). And by now of course we're just another part of the membership.
But in that Abuzz thread I just linked in you'll still see some familiar names, dlowan, ebeth, marycat, i'm in there too - others have come here too but taken a new name.
Got a big package in the mail today.

Beautiful skies, drastic colours, cycling back to town from Amelisweerd by nightfall
Thinking of terrydowhatevershewill made me think of a trip to Salem, where she and jes turned me onto lemonheads. mmmmmmmm, sour pucker. <smile>
"You in shape, momma!" was yelled at me this morning from a garbage man hanging off the back of a truck while on my morning jog with baby jogger. Gave me warm fuzzies.
Thanks for the hugs, nimh!
I'm feeling a little more hopeful today. I had an interview yesterday that I think went well.
*crosses fingers*
I'll keep you posted...
ehBeth, remembering how much fun all the Boston abuzzers used to have makes me smile. Where is TerryDoo these days, anyway?
Not really a smile, or almost, but more in the "random observations" line, like, heh, thats weird.
Met up with a pal, like I do every other week in this pub, a small, cute pub at the other end of city centre, great terrace in summer, cosy and normal (as opposed to hip, or snobbish, or frat-ish) inside. We chat a bit, play a game of Go. Place always got a mixed crowd: nerdy chessplayers, sports fans, students from the art school down the road, and the every-day neighbourhood regulars.
Now all my friends have always been girls, so its kinda cool to just meet up with this guy regularly. These days of self-opted solitude, he's actually one of very few I even meet outsida work, at all. But tonight I was looking around at one point, and there's like thirty people in there - two girls. Two girls! Well weird - never really noticed that about the place.
Yeah I guess it is kindof a guyish place, come too think of it - none too upmarket, odd buncha people but kinda folksy. Huh. I pointed it out to N., he looks up and grins, yeah, its one step from the coffeehouse here. Hang up a TV in the corner with TRT on (Turkish TV) and you're there. <grins>
Heya Marycat, I hope it'll work out!
Anastasia telling stories of watching ladybugs ...
paintsniffin' ladybugs and the origin of clouds and
a bee that came in her room and tried to
pollenate her butterfly-shaped lights
Yesterday she left three messages on the voicemail about the clouds she saw from her window ... beautiful clouds she'd counted seven-layers. She was experiencing intense beauty (or just beauty, intensely) - from in that special state of awareness. Gave me pause after a pedestrian day.
