au1929,

I thought Wiyaka's dream from last night was good, but this tops it. Will we have yet another political scandal and special investigation when the GOP finds out that some one leaked their agenda on the net? Laughing

Fado?

Sozobe, Fado is a form of Portugese folk music. Usually it sounds dark and melancholic like Tango does, only more so. But while the typical Tango is instrumental and has this unique rhythm (ratta - tata ta ta), the typical Fado is a song and can have any rhythm the composer wants it to have. Also, Fado can have a hard-to-describe bitter-sweet quality that Tango doesn't have.

In spite of it being dark and melancholic, listening to Fado doesn't tear you down emotionally, which is presumably why hearing it could make nimh smile. I'd say Fado's place in Portuguese music is comparable to the place of Blues in American music.

Bored, lonely, horny. I'm going on my daily. I've upped it from 5 miles to 7. Slap on the headphones, some Priest, some Maiden.

Wiyaka told me about a dream she had last night. One of the few I have not played a major roll in. She and a male friend drove to town in an orange, adult sized, model a or t styled pedal powered fire-truck. Surprised
They had small change and bottle caps in their pockets. When they purchased candy and pop the clerk took the bottle caps and gave them change in coins. Question
The town Banker crossed the street in front of then and Wiyaka sounded the siren to warn him. He became upset and told them that fire-men should know better.
There was also a scene in an old abandoned bank building. The only part in use was the lobby area. This housed a coffee shop. The rest of the three story building was vacant.
When they tried to leave town the configuration of the blocks would change to put them back where they had started. Wiyaka got the bright idea of going in the opposite direction. Yup, it worked and they made it back to camp/home. '
Both Wiyaka and the friend are Heyoka (Sacred Clowns). The funny part is that Wiyaka did not recognize it, at first, as a Heyoka dream.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the original subject is lost on this post. Very Happy forgive me.. but I always like to talk about what makes me happy and read about what makes other people happy. ( YYYYYEEEUP Im a sap Rolling Eyes )

Today for me it was actually having a real conversation with my mother in law with out all the false jokes and politeness. My husband and I have been living with her after her husband died in februrary and our daughter was born. We had our daughter in march and decided that not only would it be beneficial financialy for us and jillian, but his mother would truly benefit from having a full house again and watching her granddaughter grow up. It was tense at first. I found her husband dead in his study in february while she was in the other room. Noone wanted to talk about it and we all just pretended to have no problems and always be polite to each other....... like walking on a mound of eggshells. NOt tense because we were rude... just... not wanting to say something to make her cry, or my husband cry or remind anyone of anything. >yeah silly I know <
Well.. we actually talked...a REAL converation, none of the phony pleasentries, none of the awkward fake smiles , just talked. I really enjoyed it. Strange... how simple things like that can make your whole day. Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

BPB,

Glad you got a grin out of that. (I much prefer to think of you as happy and smiling than almost any other way.) Do you think the voting public will listen, or follow the advise?

Me too! The idea of bush being re-elected is a potent emetic and laxative for me.

Oh, there's many dark and melancholic things that make me smile ... call me twisted Twisted Evil

But mostly, its the surprise of hearing something beautiful, however sad, so unexpectedly on a mild-mooded evening walk ...

.. and looking up, to see where from, and seeing a still, older married couple walking down the alley from the other side, looking up too, and recognizing the moment in their eyes

Huh, that was strange. Apparently I still had my "disable smilies" ticked on, cause I looked at my post above and it said,

... call me twisted Twisted Evil

That was unintentionally funny.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaam! Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Being Heyoka means that you're the last one to understand things about yourself. Remember how Grandpa Wallace Black Elk held his sides and wiped his tears at the same time, when I mentioned how I had just realized that I carried a "little" coyote medicine? He Uncle Selo and David were heard all over that Sun Dance camp!! It was a good thing it happened when there wasn't any dancing going on, otherwise it might have disrupted things...just a little. Laughing

The rest of you have just been given "How to Crack Up a Medicineman 101."
The things you learn here, huh? Lalalalalalalala!

Actually, since my last posting today, I got a call from that friend in the dream. Nothing about it surprised him. The little brat! But it did make me smile. So did getting a website done up...at looooooong last.

remembering---my aunt found her husband of oh so many years dead in his living room reclining chair in front of the t.v. one monday morning (was a heart attack) but as it was a monday she did not call 911 until she had finished her weekly cleaning/dusting/vacuuming and scrubbed the kitchen/bathroom floors. She has priorites, she told the EMT's.
