What made me smile today?
Watching Blazing Saddles and the Gene Wilder quote 'I've killed more men than Cecil B deMilne'

Also the state of a front garden of a house I went to view.

And seeing 5 men watching 2 men fill a skip--they were 3 feet away.

So I did smile today, thanks.

Just from your name, Algys, I'd guess you made a beautiful film ... but thats just a bit of random associative prejudice there. I've seen some beautiful Lithuanian films ...

Judging on the few movies I've gotten to see by him, Aguimentas Puipa is one of my favourite directors ... and so is Sarunas Bartas.

Not, of course, that I would like to be compared to anyone just cause of my name and what country it reminds one of ... so consider that just a random digression.

Smiling at the memory of meeting Algis and Byron.

Seeing all the hamsters shake their bon-bons. Especially noddy! Very Happy

nimh - Algis' photography is so amazing, I can only imagine how marvellous his film is.

Can you recommend a site with information for someone who knows nothing about cricket but is interested in learning? I read a couple of articles written in English that may as well have been Sanskrit.

George - basic information - I'll leave the details to Gautam!

Australia are world champions, in both forms of the game of cricket.

India put up a bit of a fight in the last test series (5 day version), and tied the series against Oz, but Oz is still ahead.
Oz just defeated Sri Lanka 3-0
Oz beat India in the finalof the World Cup last year (one-day version)

And the Brits, who invented the game, are crap!

Gautam - who're you taking to the game???? <little hand waving!>

Yeah Aussies are the world champions no doubts, but team India gave them a run for their money, and in recent cricketing history has been the only team to show some spine against the mighty aussies. Considering the way they are going, I wont be surprised if they humble them very soon !!!

As far as who I am taking with them Margo, consider this - all tickets for this match were sold out within 2 hrs of going on sale.

The queue outside my office is abt a mile long last time I checked Laughing

msolga, she actually meant that she wanted to generate her own dancing hamster -- everyone else had one, so she wanted one too. So she commandeered the keyboard (doin' a LOT of that lately :-?) typed, and prepared to hit "submit" -- I got the quote in just before she did.

But yeah, hamsters can be pretty cute. Hmmm...

(littlek, hee hee!! :-D)

getting back home after spending 2 weeks on the south coast checking out the history. Visited Deal where Ceasar and the Roman's landed.
Saw the 3 castles at Deal, henry 8 in the 1530s, Walmer, henry 8 in the 1530s & Dover, late 12th century. Funny that in a short distance of about 8 miles, that area is still the favorite for would be invaders/refugees/immigrants.
Also took a trip to france. Well the sin tax on ciggies and booze is lower over there.

Its nice to go travelin' but oh so nice to get home
