I have decided to jump naked into the wilderness.

Greetings to all my A2K friends.

I have arrived in Alaska and am now only hours away from my wilderness adventure. It's cold up here, around 32 fahrenheit, and very, very isolated. I am at the last outpost before thousands of miles of untamed forests stretch northward. I am a little scared.

Soon I will be plummeting naked through the brisk Alaskan air. Once I hit the water the airplane will circle once to assure that I didn't drown and then head back and leave me alone to brave the elements.

I have asked the pilot, a gentle soul named Orga Thinnt, to take a picture of me before I remove my clothes and climb into the airplane...



I'm gonna miss you guys. Obviously I can't write and will have no way of communicating.

I don't know what else to say.

Be careful when you jump from the plane naked, you know what that can do to a man's 'wedding tackle'.

Gus just e-mailed me some digital photos he took on the flight so I could share them with everyone. The pilot insisted that he take his camera. It has a wireless satellite uplink.

Unfortunately, Gus missed the lake, landing instead near a local Inuit pre-school.

At least Gus will be safe....
This is Auk Ta Shaa, she claimed she had a vision from God of an old man running naked in the wilderness. God told her in this vision to rush to this man's side, keep him warm from the elements, and give him what ever else he needs.

Gus wanted everyone to see the simple cabin he has built for himself on the lakeshore. He has now started building a canoe...

Gus is having a little domestic trouble dealing with Auk Ta Shaa's mother. Seems she's not too happy about her daughter living with a naked white guy who jumps out of planes. Gus has tried to explain himself, but she's not buying it. She is a very stubborn woman.

Gus managed to fix up an old wooden wheelbarrow to help with gathering supplies for his house and the beginings of a garden gor next spring.

by dinnertime Gus had gotten a good many people to join in the fun. He and his neighbors cooked up some lake fish and root crops for a satisfying meal after a hard day's work.
