And rightly so.

But he should time it so that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are stuck in Washington and prevented from campaigning in the run up to the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.

No. In ordinary times, we'd outlaw the Democratic Party for abusing their power to conduct witch hunts against people who disagree with them.

@glitterbag,
I was going to write you. I presume you watched the hearings? I was riveted and came away with a deep respect for those two men and all the others like them. And I learned a hell of a lot about the Ukraine and its recent history.

@blatham,
I watched quite a bit of it.
Had to use the mute button when Jordan and the other republican questioner was flexing and braying.
But was impressed by the two witnesses.

One thing: I don’t subscribe to the NBC News “analysis “ that the Democrats needed more “pizzazz”, but if the main objective of the public hearings is to get the attention of the public and clearly inform them about what 45 did, the opening statements could have been more succinct.

Who here watched the testimony today?

I did.

I was extremely un-impressed with Devin Nunes opening. It was pure whining and nastiness. He did nothing to show how he intends on defending against the charges against Trump. He acted poorly and unbecoming of the position he holds.

I suppose that will continue. Jim Jordan portrayed himself as an ass, again. Fast talking and run-on sentences meant to confuse the witnesses did nothing to phase them but showed Jordan's propensity for being unprofessional and filled with hot air.

It seems most of the Republicans don't know what decorum is, I guess Trump taught them well in this regard.

There was only one Republican worthy of mention, Steve Castor. He was the only one who seemed prepared - throughout the others shouting to get the name of the whistle blower and a few needless entering evidence into the record - Mr. Castor was the only Republican grown up that bothered to show up.

@blatham,
I agree with you there about Ukraine. Even though we went to war in 2014, I never realized the significance of Ukraine position in regards to holding it's own against Russian aggression and what it means to the Russian agenda on the whole.

I just heard on MSNBC that the WP has a piece out that the GOP in the senate is considering stretching out the impeachment trial to damage the democrat chances in the 2020 election.

To me, that says it all that is wrong with Washington.

@neptuneblue,
I hear that some progressives are having their bodies liquefied and dumped into sewers when they die.

http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2018/06/a-green-alternative-to-cremation-dissolving-your-corpse-in-water-and-lye/

I have to say that I find this to be an appropriate send off for a progressive. Did this Cummings thug choose to have himself flushed?

If so, people should start making pilgrimages to use the bathroom in whatever municipality he was flushed at. Twisted Evil

What is wrong with forcing Sanders and Warren to miss the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary?

Progressives are evil. They deserve what they get.

This govt is so polarized that you guys on the right have lost the way entirely.

Reeducation camps are actually the perfect solution to the problem of progressivism in America.

That was justified retaliation for the Democrats blocking of W's nominees in 2007-08.

If you think you're pissed now, wait until the Republicans retaliate for all the witch hunts that are being waged against Trump.

Mr. Trump prevents you from violating my civil liberties, and that's what's important. None of that other stuff matters.

@revelette3,
Nancy knew all along that if there were to be a lot of hearings etc. that Warren and Bernie would likely have to leave the campaign trail indefinitely......so one way other other the election would be interrupted.

All based on second hand knowledge, or even more remote, and not even in the transcript of the call. They are making fools out of themselves and everyone who supports them.

@coldjoint,
I can't believe that's the best you guys can come up with as a defense. It fell flat yesterday. Most of the country knows Trump committed the acts he is accused of, they just don't know think he will be removed from office. He won't be.

No it did not. Today Pelosi and other talking heads are trying to convince people hearsay or second hand information is evidence. So far it is all they have. Actually, thinking people believe that crap is insulting.
