Hope all enjoy...looking forward to stories and pictures
Looks like I'm the first one back. What a great bunch! Had dinner last night with Beth and Setanta, Timberland, patiodog and Sozobe. Also met E.G. and the Sozlet. This morning I met the furballs, Mr. Bailey and Ms. Cleo. I hope my pictures turn out!
OK, here are just some of the things I learned in Madison, Viscownsun:
1. Ms. Cleo is a Luuuuv Sluttt and no one EVER rubs HER belly!
2. Mr. Bailey is a fine gentleman and although he occasionally likes to roll around on dead fish, he maintains his doggie dignity at all times.
3. Setanta has very large shoes.
4. Timber is a proud papa and critter wrangler.
5. patiodog bears a striking resemblance to George Clooney.
6. Sozobe is as lovely in person as she is online.
7. The Sozlet is beautiful and oh so smart.
8. ehBeth has a penchent for leopard print, antlers, autumn colored hair and taking pictures of dead things. She also brings the best treats.
9. Somewhere naugas are senselessly being slaughtered.
I'm home ... dawdled a bit on the way back ... kinda nice to be able to do that. The critter sitter was fine when I got here, but maybe a little shellshocked, and certainly a tad bamboozled by the puppies. The ponies were no problem at all, she said ... but the puppies had her convinced all sorts of stuff was cool ... stuff we don't really let 'em get away with. They're just like kids.
Anyhow, we had a great time, it was over way too soon. I'm not even gonna unload the stuff out of my truck 'till tomorrow ... but I'll get the pictures into my gallery shortly thereafter and post a link to 'em here.
And no naugas were harmed in the crafting of this post.
Oh please hurry! You all made such a fine group of a2kers!
Bethie, I should have sent you my latest pair of leopard print slippers.
Puppies, the Sozlet, Timber, Swimpy, Setanta, patiodog and EG. Wow. Will all of you be able to make it to the SAn Francisco gathering? Dys and I are hoping to be there. We'd love to meet all of you.
Pictures please!! Do be sure in include pics of the naugas....
More accounts! Who was like what! Who misbehaved! What ar epeople really liike!
MMMMOOOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEE!!!!!!!!
Wooooowwwww, I didn't realize it was this weekend! Pix! Pix!
Avidly waiting lurker here. MMMMMOOOOOOORRRREEEEEEEE!!!!!
The doggies and I are home. Setanta should be landing back in O H I O soon.
I haven't unloaded the car. I am fried. It was a 10+ hour drive to Flint after breakfast with Swimpy and Timber yesterday. Then another 5 hours of driving today. The puppies are exhausted. They are officially very very very good dogs.
Bottom line - everyone is so huggable!
Pix soon. I promise. I filled the small memory stick, and made a good dent in the second one. The internal memory in Setanta's camera is also full. Lots of pix to take - dead fish and fabulous A2K'ers!
See how they taunt us. Post the damn pictures!
Ha!
you just wanna see peppermint with his George Clooney do.
timber has the most amazing, expressive face. Getting a pic of him with a straight face is a project!
timber and Setanta can talk ... and talk. I managed to stay partially alert and listening until 1 a.m., when I took the doggies to our room. Setanta came back a coupla hours later. I think. I was sleeping.
I felt very very sorry for soz's twerp. Talkers to the left of her, talkers to the right. Should she be interpreting the dirty Irish jokes Setanta's telling peppermint, or the political discussion Swimpy and timber are having? or both? (I think she sort of managed both at some points - I can't sign well, but I can sort of eaves-drop on signing)
has timber posted his pix yet?
he should be first.
*just* walked in the door. have to get my bearings. more soon.
was wonderful to meet everyone.
ooooooooooooh
i can hear/feel sozobe's voice.
neat.
Here's a link to what I thought was one of the most interesting sites we visited on our way to Madison (and where Cleo swam in Lake Superior).

... and one of her Lake Michigan swimming holes

The trip to Madison was a real treat for a history or geography buff. Luckily, there was at least one of each travelling in Algernon.
Cool, timber!
The whole "mysterious guest" thing btw is the interpreter -- as flashbulbs were popping (or whatever they do on digicams) she shot me a little look, and when timber explained that her pics would be exhibited to people all over the world! she shot me another look, and I asked her if she would prefer not to have them posted and she said, no no that's OK, then I said we could put like a little black rectangle on it and she said ya know that would be good thanks.
OK so my narrative to follow.
Hmm, sozobe must have had one of the most spectacular growth spurts of all time. Just a few days ago she was much smaller.
