Well, on the bright side, who else but Cubs fans have been able to say "Next year we'll get there" 95 times in a row?

I'll check in here sometime tomorrow. I'll be leaving work at 4:30 pm tomorrow. ETA 7 pm, if I don't get lost trying to get to the Great Dane. Had a little trouble getting to the right street last time.

Swimpy, ETA at the Great Dane? What about checking into hotel etc.? (Currently planning on meeting at 7:30 at the Great Dane.)

The thing with my friend is getting unwieldy -- he wants to meet earlier (like 5), I want to meet later (we will probably arrive at around 5, need to check in, decompress a bit, etc.). E.G. called the Great Dane this afternoon to ask if there was any possibility of getting a special circumstance reservation -- deafie here needs someplace light and not too terribly noisy. They said to call back and talk to someone else tomorrow morning... seems like that's a possibility.

I'll update tomorrow after he calls.

I doubt there will be time to check into the hotel before getting to the Great Dane. I'm being optimisitic in saying 7. Most likely I will just be arriving at the city limits at 7. So expect me at the Great Dane by 7:30.

I'm so excited!

Got a call from Setanta and ehBeth yesterday evening. All's well with them, I know. Confirmed, though, that the chips here do suck.

So, soz -- a possibility of 7 at the Dane, but not definite; it be a brewpub, so it shouldn't be much trouble to pull up another chair. Anyway, we'll probably eat before, so we'll only need table space for brewskies.

Swimp -- the Dane is off the eastern corner of capitol square, if that helps at all, a bit down a stepp hill (steep for the midwest, anyway). Unless my memory is flawed, which it usually is.

Okay, off to class. Much learning to be done, and falling further behind every day. Cheers.

The chips suck? LOL Let them eat French fries then.

Have a great gathering all of you! We're waiting with interest to hear some stories.

Hmmm. You could make a fortune if you'd import them then. I'll bet you're missing their Jalapeno chips, huh?

Okie dokes...

E.G. called Great Dane and played the poor pitiful deafie card. Didn't work. Ah well. Worth a try.

He DID confirm that a group of 3 or 4 can arrive earlier and hold a table that will then become a group of 6 or 7.

So the current plan is that E.G., sozlet and I will arrive at the Great Dane at 6:30 PM, and wait. (Meeting friend tomorrow instead.) If the wait is short, we will sit down, they will grab something to eat, and the table will then be converted to A2K. If the wait is long, the table should be ready right around when 7:30 rolls around.

See you all tonight!!

Had dinner at Perkins last night w/ Setanta and ehBeth, then sat up half the night talkin' w/ Set. EhBeth and their twp puppies were wiser; they stayed in their room and slept. Anywho ... a few pics were taken last night, and we'll "beam 'em up" soon. The 'net connection here at the motel pretty much sucks though ... might wait 'till I get home to do anything that involves uploading.
