Coolness.

The terp's all lined up! She's great, will be wonderful to see her.

Am sort of semi-finalizing plans with friend beforehand. I wouldn't mind sitting there -- might want a walking break in between. I will have some sort of sign and will also tell the hostess to expect people asking for the A2K gathering and to send 'em thisaway. Right now not sure if it will be him, his family, and me (four people), or him, his family, and me and my family (six people). Sozlet will be coming right off of a long car trip and probably won't be in the mood to sit in one place for long.

To clarify:

I will be at the Great Dane from 6 until about 7:30, but with a (non-A2K) friend. Then the gathering will start at 7:30. Have terp scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30, with the expectation that I'll shift over to more lipreading as the evening progresses.

Thanks for the update, hamburger! Have been wondering about ehBeth and Setanta. Hope they're having fun. Do you know if they will have any internet access at any point before the gathering? If not (or even if so, actually), probably best if timber makes sure to catch 'em at the Red Roof on Thursday and bring them up to speed.

Gettin' WAY excited. Very Happy

No.

I am just generally the kiss of death for sports teams. Anyone you want to lose? Lemme know, and I'll be sure to keep a close eye on it for ya.

I haven't pulled for a winning team since the '88 Dodgers, and I didn't think they had a prayer.

I shouldn't've typed anything back there...

Twins X 2, Packers once, that's about it. (Well, Packers went to the Super Bowl twice.) Oh and Badgers, but not really. I knew Ron Dayne and maybe the qb.

Think I may have used up my fan luck. (Cubs series ain't over yet, though. Generally like game sevens.)

Post-Season tickets to anything in Chicago have real collector value. Post-Playoff Chicago-themed celebratory memorabilia is even more valuable.

Anything? Chicago? Ever hear of Michael Jordan?

(That said, even the Bulls suck these days. Sigh.)

We took the young'un to O'hare yesterday. (He's off to Goimany for a year Sad ) The sports radio guys were already decalring victory in Game 5 and Mark Prior the best Cubs pitcher ever. I knew that was teh kiss of death.

I heard they had to take that guy (who grabbed the ball out of Alou's glove) out of the ball park unfder heavy security. (Goddam billy goat!)

Swimpy wuz here! Brief feeling of disappointment (she was here and I missed her!) trumped by realization that I'll see her in just a few days. Wow. Very Happy (I'm still not really used to the concept, I don't think. I've never done anything vaguely like this before.)

If we curse the billy goat does that make the curse worse or balance things out a bit? (Damn billy goat!) But yeah, you called the kiss of death moment. Whew, not my fault. This time.

I'm keeping an eye on things via Yahoo so they're guaranteed to lose, just in case anyone wants to contact their bookie anything. (Cubs mania is pervasive enough that one of the main reasons I hope they win is so dealing with my committee will be easier -- if they lose, everyone's gonna be WAY grumpy tomorrow.)

Ack! I really should, shouldn't I? I was getting all happy after the homers, and then whoops, Marlins are just one run behind. I gotta make sure Angie's still watching.

(Who, me? No, I'm not particularly superstitious. Why do you ask?)
