They say body, soul, spirit with the spirit being the immortal one.

But I think it's body, spirit, soul. Your spirit can be crushed by extreme depression, fear, etc. It can be affected by the physical world. Contrary to all this Faustian crap, you cannot sell away your soul. It is a gift from God. The reason I say body, spirit, soul is that what we call soul is really the Holy Spirit. The spirit is simply our spirit. Why is this relevant? Well because when we sin, our spirit is broken and burned up. We forget all memories, and everything that makes us is gone. But God's soul is a priceless indestructible thing. Materialists have it backwards when they deny the soul. It isn't some troubling thing inside the body that disturbs them so because it reminds them of God. Rather, the soul is all existence and created the spirit, and created the body, and created the physical world the body sees.

Can the soul die? No. Soul is existence, soul is life. If one soul dies, it is as though the whole world died (paraphrasing Jewish thought).

The scriptures equate the ‘MIND’ with the ‘SPIRIT’, in one place it is said, “You must love God with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your soul:” In another place it is said, “You must love God with all your body, with all your spirit and with all your soul.”

“YOU,” as a human being, are Body, Soul and Spirit, but “YOU” the invisible mind, are spirit.

This body that you see It isn’t really me

Who I Am today, has evolved from the very first life form to have crawled out of the primordial waters of this earth some four and a half billion years ago! Who I Am, is connected to that first life-form by an unbroken genetic thread of life!

That first life form has evolved to become ‘Who I Am’, by gathering to itself the information/spirit of its descendants, to become the body in which the mind/intellect that is ‘I AM’ is developing. That which has become ‘WHO I AM’ has never died, and will never die, but the mind that is ‘I AM’ can cease to exist.

I am a triad being consisting of Body, Soul, and Spirit. The body is created from the universal elements and must return to the elements from which it is created. The Soul is the divine animating principle that pervades the entire universe activating all within, and like the elements, the soul must also return to the ‘GREAT THOUGHT’ which is made manifest as this visible universe.

While the Spirit is the invisible mind which is the ‘I Am,’ that is imprinted upon the eternal universal Soul, which Soul must return to the ‘GREAT THOUGHT,’ with or without the ‘I Am,’ that is either accepted into the GREAT THOUGHT, or rejected, and if rejected, it is separated from the eternal Soul and ceases to exist.

The body in which you, [The mind] are developing as the supreme head and controller of that body, is made up of the universal elements, which is activated by the soul, [The divine Animating life force] to which all the spirit [gathered information] of all your ancestors, human and pre-human has been gathered in its evolution to become ‘WHO YOU ARE’, and Just as mankind developed within the bodies of our animal ancestors, that gathering of parental spirits, is the evolving ‘SON OF MAN,’ who dwells behind the veil of the flesh to the inner most sanctuary of its temporary earthly tabernacle or tent, which is your physical body, as it awaits the creation of its glorious temple of incorruptible Light. When the body in which you [the mind] are being formed, dies, [This is the first death] and your body of “skin, flesh, muscle, blood, bone, brain matter etc, etc,” has returned to the universal elements from which it was created, all that remains, is a shadow or rather, a facsimile of YOU, the mind or spirit, that has been imprinted into the universal life force or soul, which returns to ‘THE GREAT THOUGHT,’ [The collective consciousness of all that exists] from which it will be resurrected in this cycle, or the next cycle of universal activity, to everlasting life or everlasting death.

No eternal punishment, the punishment for the unrepentant sinners is "EVERLASTING DEATH", total oblivion from which there is no return. The second death, where the living spirit is divided from the eternal soul, which empty dead soul, will be given a new heart=body in which to develop a new spirit=mind.

In Islam , we believe that the soul don’t die but it enters what we call “ the barzakh ” , it’s a state of waiting until the day of judgment
When a person dies, their soul is taken by the angel of death
God sends two angels to question the waiting soul.
If the questions are answered correctly, the good soul then sleeps during Barzakh.
If the questions are not answered correctly, the soul is tormented by angels, known as punishment of the grave.

We believe that there will be three questions
Who is Your God ? The answer will be : Allah
Which is your religion? The answer will be : Islam
Who is Your Prophet ? The answer will be : Muhammed peace be upon on him
The question are pretty easy , huh ? Maybe even if a non-muslim see the questions can guess what muslims will respond
However, even we muslims may not be able to answer those questions that day , we believe that it depends on the person strong belief for Allah and that also involves staying away from sins and obeing god . I can’t say that i know what will happen that day , but even if someone considered himself a muslim but he does not pray , he committed sins , he hurted people … may not be able to answer the question and will say : i don’t know
