@Lash,
You sure you're not taking that out of context? Smile

@Lash,
Since you've read that study, you'll have noticed that it doesn’t suggest that Russian influence operations aren’t a threat at all - it didn't examine examine other social media, e.g. the much-larger Facebook or the even more influential Telegram.

So far in this thread I am seeing, more often from one poster, but also from others:

- My preferred perspective is the only plausible perspective, so I don't have to check if there are other more plausible perspectives (per article)

- I don't have to work out how my news would function in practice, as a test to see if they are telling the truth

- I don't have to ask 'what is missing that could change how I view this incident' as news would never leave out information, and would never seek to evoke my emotions - and even if they did, leaving out information never changes my perceptions....

- I can take the first person to speak's word for it, particularly if he/she has friends that want to jump on board and say the same thing

+

- I believe departments are made up of robots, rather than individual humans, because they function as a robotic unit, without human compassion, ethics, values, or anything else that makes them human

- I apply the same to any conspiracies I believe in. They too are made up of inhuman, emotionaless robots who are absent any values whatsoever

+

- If I don't like a group, I will blame them for a different groups invasion of X country. I won't look at the history of the invader, for I want to blame others for the invasion

+

- My news = truth tellers Vs Other news = liars

- Others have to check if their news is lying Vs I don't have to check if my news is lying

- Mistakes on my part = I am human Vs Mistake by departments = proof of conspiracy (there's no humans in departments, so they can't make honest mistakes)

These are just off the top of my head. I find this type of thinking somewhere between bamboozling and plain idiotic.

I find this thinking a real shame, because there are plenty of legitimate concerns about government: becoming overly regulated, becoming increasingly secretive, lying to their people, taking away freedoms under the guise of security, bribing their people / creating divides / creating fear to better manipulate their people, etc. All this thinking does, is diminish the message about the problem.

@vikorr,
There is one conclusion I have come to -----> Lash should move to Russia where she would be happy!

@BillW,
I don't know that she'd be happier, but if the Russian government said "The West is to blame for our oppression of you, because if they didn't do X, then we would have to do Y, so you can blame the West"

...well, that's the same line of thinking that she uses to blame the West for Russias current invasion of Ukraine

...and if Russias previous invasions of Ukraine, Georgia and Chechnya are (apparently) viewed by her as not in keeping with their current invasion of Ukraine

- well, using the same standards, the above excuse would surely sound plausible.

@vikorr,
You right, she will never be happy, but, this is what she wants the US to be.

If that means turning into a conspiracy seeker, always-looking-over-my-shoulder mess that's been posted so far. then I'm in a better place than the OP.

BREAKING: NYC nurses strike to end this morning in historic victory as tentative deals were reached with both @MontefioreNYC and @MountSinaiNYC Hospital. Nurses won concrete enforceable safe staffing ratios in both deals and will be back on the job.

Following Jeffery Epstein and clients.

Briahna Joy Gray of The Hill, researching facts surrounding the AG of the Virgin Islands (close to the location of Epstein’s Pedo Island—where presidents, celebrities, and heads of state sexually exploited minors) brought suit against JPMorganChase for assisting Epstein financially.

VI AG Denise George was immediately fitted with no explanation. American president Joe Biden just happened to be in the Virgin Islands on that day.

Evidence of severe global unrest continues

One hundred thousand civil servants in 124 different government departments will go on strike on February 1 in dispute over jobs and pay as unions ratchet up the pressure on ministers with massive walk-out

Excerpt:

The stoppage will coincide with the TUC's 'protect the right to strike' day, which was announced in reaction to the Government's controversial legislation on minimum service levels during industrial action.

A further 33,000 PCS members working in five more departments, including HM Revenue & Customs, are next week re-balloting to join the union's national strike action.

PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said: 'During the last month, when thousands of PCS members across a range of departments took sustained industrial action, the Government said it had no money.

Some really think so.
But neither England nor the UK represent the world ("globe").

In keeping with habit, Lash uses the far right Daily Fail to back up her lies.

@izzythepush,
But even the Daily Fail knows that the momentary and future strikes of the report are in England resp. the UK (e.g. Border Force). And that they have to do with the circumstances there, especially with the current government.

@Walter Hinteler,
I think she has a rather childlike view of the rest of the world, anything outside America is "Global."
