I'm not going to start a seminary in law on industrial action (which is a branch of German collective labour law and deals with the permissibility of industrial action, especially strikes and lockouts) here.
But my attitude towards strikers is the same as that of the trade unions (not only but especially mine, of course).
What should also be taken into account in general:
In an international comparison, the Federal Republic of Germany is a "labour-strike-poor" country, and is intensity is only surpassed by Japan, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.
This, along with other factors of different national dispute cultures, is explained by the high density of regulations.
