Absolutely, Deb. Kinda unwieldy, but they definitely count. LOL

Okay; I admit it: I call my dogs "You fat juicy turd" and "big old piece of ****." But I say it in a praising manner so they don't get wise.

I agree, Edgar. We can call them anything as long as we say the name in the right tone of voice. I have been known to call Mikey Pea Brain or Pee Brain, depending on my mood and his behavior.

DrFlawless, Great names--the originals and the nicks.

Vivien, I like them all. Aren't you kind. When Rosie is being a scaredy cat, you tell her it's okay. When Mikey's being a scaredy cat, I call him a chickenshit and tell him to "unbiggify" his tail.

I have a cat named Pigsy. I also call her:

Pig, pig face, pig girl, girl brain, girl face and many more retarted but interesting names, she knows I love her so thats all that matters.

I am amazed at the words that come out of my mouth re my Pacco. I have never understood people who kept their little poopsiepoos in their purses and went gushygoo at them all the time. I understand more about it now that I hear myself call Pacco, my boy, baby Pacco, etc. Thunderpaws, that fits, but baby Pacco? Yep, I am understanding the gush now.

Bootsie and Mz Bella won't let anyone near them except me, so I give them lots of smooches. Yep, the entire herd get smooches and hugs.

Vastrada is my favorite because she and her twin bro (who recently passed) are my first companion cats - then Mandy, Callie, Boots, Bell, and the youngest ~ Mr. Will (poor guy - the only male cat in the herd)

Each cat has his/her own poem recited daily to thier faces, and yes, they are completely spoiled (well, if spoiling a cat possible).

Vivien, Biggify is not copyrighted. Be my guest.

Stand up, You're right. She knows you love her, and that is all that matters.

Osso, I know what you mean. I've been known to call Mikey Honey Bunny, not a name that I would have expected to emerge from my mouth.

Stradee, I think that spoiling a cat is possible from the human perspective, but not from the cat's. You recite poems for your crew? I sing to Mikey on occasion. But I've never recited a poem for him.

Roberta, when my kids were little, i'd make up poems for every occasion, especially when they were upset, lighting up their little faces.

The cats don't light up, in fact, what amuses me the most is they get the "oh god, she's gone" look, then they proceed running and chasing each other, so I guess my poems are more motivational than prophetic Laughing

Roberta: I don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not, but Janeane Garofalo did a skit on this very topic. It was hilarious! She made a comment in the skit that she'd called her dog so many different names he didn't know what his name was! I think she has 3 dogs now. Smile

Osso, This should be the worst of the things I can't live down. And how is cutesy wootsy baby Pacco?

Stradee, Nice try. Fact is, if I want Mikey to leave me alone, I start singing. Maybe I should write a song entitled, "Good-bye Mikey. I'm singing you a song."

Caprice, No, no one's mentioned this. I like Janeane. I'm sure her discussion of the subject is funny. I'd love to see it.

As I read over some of the comments here, I'm realizing that the only time my parents ever called me Roberta was when then were angry about something. Maybe I should start a thread on pet names for people. Not really nicknames. Pet names. I must cogitate on this.

Embarrassed? Maybe they don't know how. Did you give them lessons? I once tried dancing with Mikey. A mistake.

Hey Stand Up, Dressed up your cat? She let you do that? A very mellow cat.

I once took my parakeet to school for show and tell. But all she had on was feathers. And no dancing.

Hey Caprice, C'mon. What's the big secret? You had "unusual" pet names? You could tell us one. Just one. C'mon. We won't tell a soul. Honest.
