I'll Never Vote for Hillary Clinton

I dislike Hillary Clinton. I think she represents a 20 year step backwards for the Democratic party and the progressive movement. I can point out many times in her career she has lacked integrity. I worry about her tendency to overuse American military power (and I have a personal stake in that one).

That being said. I am going to vote for Hillary Clinton because she is the Democratic nominee. After I complain a little, I am going to fall into line and accept this crappy situation I am in, just like you all want me to (and Hillary needs me to).

How is that for herd mentality.

Why not address the claims then and leave out the attacks on the messenger? Why make sarky comments about the guy not paying for a blog as if that means anything at all?

The devolving nature of this conversation saddens me. It's basically now an echo chamber of a handful of Clinton supporters being increasingly poor winners to the outnumbered Sanders supporters who stubbornly can't let go after essentially losing.

I can't imagine why either side wants to do this ad nauseum and the increasingly personal and increasingly mindless nature of the discussion (and the mindless partisan downvoting, cmon can't we tolerate the opposing viewpoint better than that?) is a pity. People are just more stridently talking past each other and generating more enmity for no real gain.

I think we can and should be better than this level of discourse, most of you guys are politically very similar and are attacking each other over a primary that is already essentially over and that will be yesterday's news soon (June 7th).

* The chair of the convention announced that the convention rules passed on voice vote, when the vote was a clear no-vote. At the very least, the Chair should have allowed for a headcount.

* The chair allowed its Credentials Committee to en mass rule that 64 delegates were ineligible without offering an opportunity for 58 of them to be heard. That decision enabled the Clinton campaign to end up with a 30-vote majority.

* The chair refused to acknowledge any motions made from the floor or allow votes on them.

* The chair refused to accept any petitions for amendments to the rules that were properly submitted.

Voting against the DNC will not hurt the people in the DNC (their salaries and pensions will be just fine), it will hurt the very people that Sanders claims to be fighting for.

That's the irrefutable truth of the matter.
