@cicerone imposter,
Did you learn to speak Japanese at home? did you learn how to get dressed? how to eat?

did you arrive at school as a naked lump in a box?

@ehBeth,
I can't believe he just said that.

Of COURSE our parents/guardians are our first teachers. That's not even debatable. That's as obvious as gravity

@ehBeth,
Had to. Our mother didn't speak English. As far as I can remember, my mother never taught me anything. However, I have to admit she had to feed and dress me when I was an infant. When I was two years old, my brother and I were left to our own devices, because our mother worked, and in those days we didn't even know about babysitters. Our mother couldn't afford it anyway.
As a young teenager, I went to three years of Japanese school, so I can still remember reading and writing some. It really helped when my wife and I visited Japan about 16 years ago. Just knowing things like entrance and exit was a big help.

As I said, this list won't satisfy anyone for whom it is important to keep believing that Hillary is a lying, scheming do-nothing.

And for those who can see both the good and the not so good in Hillary, this will just verify what they already kind of know - that she has worked hard as a public servant for decades.

But here's what I found using just two of the google hits I got (so yeah ehbeth, not sure if Debra Law actually looked):

-As a student at Yale Law, her research and writing
about child placement laws 'The Best Interest of the Child'
was published, and she worked for Walter Mondale's congressional sub-
committee researching issues affecting migrant workers.
-As First Lady of Arkansas, she served as chair of the Arkansas
Education Standards Committee. While chair, she implemented
standards for curriculum and mandatory teacher testing.

She co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families in
1977. She continued to publish scholarly articles in
the field of children's law.
She served on the board of directors of the Legal
Services Corporation, a nonprofit designed to ensure
equal access to legal justice for all Americans.

As First Lady of the US-
-She headed the effort to work toward achieving
national healthcare reform. It was an unsuccessful effort, but it
started a decades long effort of Democrats working toward
meaningful healthcare reform.

-She worked closely with the U.S. Senate to help pass the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
She initiated the Adoption and Safe Families Act and was influential the passage of Foster Care Independence Act.

As Senator-
-She led the efforts to pass The Lilly Ledbetter Pay Equity Act, which is now the law of the land.
She authored the Pediatric Research Equity Act which required drug companies to study their pediatric drugs more carefully and make safer labeling about dosing and safety
She helped secure funding for the rebuilding of New York and the WTC after 9/11
She voted against the Bush tax cuts which increased federal deficits immensely.
She led a bipartisan effort to bring broadband access to rural communities.

As Secretary of State-
-Negotiated the New START missile reduction treaty with Russia.
-She was vital in conducting relations with Pakistan and Afghanistan.
-She worked to restart negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, establishing direct talks in 2010 and traveling to Jerusalem in 2012 in an effort to stop the 2012 Gaza conflict.
-She promoted women's right and human rights as vital to U.S. political interests. She advocated for gay rights at the UN Human Rights Council.
-In 2009 she unveiled the Global Hunger and Food Security Initiative for Bill Clinton's Clinton Global Initiative.
-She was outspoken in support of legitimate democracy in Russia during the 2011 election controversies.
-Along with the State Department assisted in the release of American civilians held as prisoner in North Korea and Iran.
-She organized the trade embargo which pressured Iran into agreeing to participate in talks over its nuclear program
-She personally arranged for the release of a noted Chinese dissident and arranged for his immigration into the United States;
-She brought issues such as denying females access to education and the so-called "honor" killings in the Muslim world into open debate at the UN, issues that had never before been debated.
=She pushed for equality in the United States by granting spousal benefits to same sex partners of State Department employees, something that did not exist prior to her leadership.
-Under her leadership there were more women serving as ambassadors than ever before in the history of the United States.

And she is by all accounts a good momma and grand momma.

Hillary's achievements dwarf any other presidential candidates or past presidents other than maybe Kennedy or Johnson in the last 50 years.

@snood,
Thank you, snood, for that list of Hillary's accomplishments. I'm mystified by why I still have negative ideas about Hillary after all she has accomplished. Maybe, it'll dawn on me one of these days.

@ossobuco,
I have been lecturing every one about the importance of electing a democratic president because I want a democratic Supreme Court. All this fighting among the dems is hurting the ticket. What, the SC isent political. The hell you say. Remember Ralph Nader who elected a republican president using his high ideals. So do I and I think a Bernie candidate will do the same thing. If he is on the ticket we dems will be hearing socialist=communist until it is coming out our ears. But go ahead, vote your ideals even though you KNOW Bernie cant get even one of his ideas through the house.

Thank you for providing a resume. She went to law school, wrote a paper, served on committees and boards, was first lady, etc. Anyone can find her resume and assume that she probably did some good. But that is just an assumption and I asked for a concrete example, and this caught my eye as one: "She personally arranged for the release of a noted Chinese dissident and arranged for his immigration into the United States."

I googled to find more information on that example, and this came up: "Chinese Dissident Contradicts Hillary Clinton’s Account of His Escape from China". http://www.mediaite.com/online/chinese-dissident-contradicts-hillary-clintons-account-of-his-escape-from-china/

Did she personally arrange for his release? I don't know. I don't like her; I think she's dishonest; I think she caters to people & corporations that funnel money to her; and I'm not voting for her.

Y'all know what's weird? Most of us probably agree on about 99% of our political views. If someone just looked in on these threads briefly, it would appear like we had some serious basic differences.
