A very difficult day. (Luckily for me, only a half day.) A very stressed colleague actually cried in front of her students after two very serious & provocative incidents with two separate classes. It is a very hard time of term (2nd last week & everyone is rather tired & jaded, hanging out for the term break...) & it is hardly an "easy" school. I'm very worried that my colleague will break down completely in a very public situation. Why, oh why won't she take some time off on a medical certificate? Sad

... anyway, anyway <sigh>... I'm off to have a meal with a friend now. A beautiful balmy night for early spring. Warm enough for eating on the footpath outside the cafe. Smile TGITW (Thank god it's the weekend!) Phew!

The last day of my holiday today. I wish that was not a fact, but ... so I'm wandering around the house, trying to relax while humming The Carnival is Over. <sob>

On the credit side: a beautiful, (no, exquisite!) day in Melbourne today. Sunny, calm & warm. Very Happy Perfect for some beach walking, out-door cafe sitting & deep & meaningful conversations about life, love & politics with my very good friend, W. Very Happy

Not where I work!

I sit and face all day an especially garish, bright, retina-scorching orange building! One of those storage places! The reflected light casts a sort of orange glow into our office - not terribly good for the complexion.

At least the incompetent drivers backing into the posts keep us entertained.
