p.s. : I'm sorry you were bitten by a small black spider, Gus! I hope you don't catch angst, too!

Sorry for GUS?????!!!!!

The spider's family just contacted me - the poor li'l fella suffered a long and excruciating death - and now all his kids seem to be affected. Biting Gus (in self-defence, I might add - he was about to step on little Ermintrude and Jemima, the spider's favourite daughters) is seemingly about to lead to the death of an entire spider dynasty! Gus' blood is poisonous, and it splattered the whole family.

He DESERVES angst!

Take that poisonous blood back to the swamp, Gus!!!!

I am very sorry to hear you are having existential angst, Msolga.

Has it been there for long?

Hmmmmmmmm - may I suggest cleaning your house thoroughly, then going for a brisk walk - especially if your neighbourhood is crime infested.

I find returning to our natural way of life - being dirty and very afraid - does wonders for existential angst.

When you come home - to mimic the whole hunter/gatherer thing - may I suggest you eat dinner from a can - no manufactured openner allowed - and you have to make fire yourself?

This will cure almost any modern variety of angst!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deb

I really think you should treat my angst with more seriousness! Evil or Very Mad

(psst: I see you couldn't face tonight's 4 Corners, either! Shocked Now that would cause both of us to have serious angst!)

Both. Existential angst should never get in the way of having yourself a really good time.

Well, whatcha expect from me, littlek, when life is so devoid of meaning?

And how are YOU my dear? (apart from your panic attack?)

A lot of little petty stresses. Screech needs to switch insulin, which is a long and expensive process. Bootsie is still in declining health. Housemate 1 was having terrible problems with her dissertation which made us unsure she'd be able to stay here next year. Housemate 2's father is in and out of an ICU in Chicago. She decided to move back there and left rather abruptly. Dasha and her long-time b/f broke up. I broke up with a guy I've been too-casually dating. I spent my weekend working. The house painters are crushing my little green babies. A good friend of the family is undergoing tests to see if 2 seperate cancers are evidence of metastic(?) cancer. But, I'm feeling pretty perky. Thanks for asking.

Now to read up and see how everyone else is doing.....

MsOlga - have you tried doing something creative? That usually messes my head up so bad that I snap out of my E.A.

And, what's this about John's demise?

LittleK. John, <oldandknew> Has been absent from our scope since June 2. Since he has been ill for some time, we all are concerned.

Msolga, read "Rockinghorse Winner". That will really chase your angst away right along with Sartre. Rolling Eyes

My son is home from his lengthy stay in the hospital, but is depressed because he can't get around and depends so much on his wife. Of course, since they are an extension of me, I too get a bit down.

There's a delightful little child's song called Tarantella. It has to do with a child's dancing to sweat out the venom of a tarantula. I'll see if I can find it. UhOh. It's a simple instrumental.
