A very small world, isn't it, shadowboxer? It often surprises me, someone always knows someone you know, or has been here for a visit, or married someone, or has an uncle ...! Surprised Laughing
And yes, Melbourne can be extremely hot in summer. Dry heat. Luckily for me I'm usually on holiday during January. And also luckily for me, this little terrace house I live in stays as cool as a cucumber during the hottest of days (though can warm up at night). But summer is my favourite time of the year, so why do I sound like I'm complaining? Cool

I find it funny when I hear and see on tv that people in Australia celebrate Christmas and NYE on the beach... Mr. Green
And you say you go on a vacation in January..
January is one of the coldest months in Hungary..we often have minus 20 degrees that time..grrr..lucky you...although I have to admit: snow is a wonderful thing in the winter, I'd never miss making a snowman around Christmas... Very Happy

I live in Massachusetts.... never been to Oregon... I've been to California,Tennessee and Washington but I was just a baby then.... The only places that I can actually remember visiting are New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Conneticutt(sp?) (all of them surround me  ) and Florida (went there in 2000).......

But Massachusetts is Nice, I live near Boston and there is almost always something to do there...... and the weather can be nice when it wants to be! Laughing

Mr. Green I remember one day back in '86 when I was really small, couldn't go to school because it snowed so much during the night that I couldn't open our gate... Very Happy the snow was like 1,5 meter tall... Mr. Green Shocked

You mean the next stage, after "just hatched", shadowboxer? I'm not sure, but someone here will be able to tell you, I'm sure.

Well, msolga, since I have a brand new roof and can now proceed with getting my house painted, I feeling much more human.

Hey, shadowboxer, love your moniker.

Wow! shadowboxer, that's great.

msolga, after hurricane Frances, my roof was a shambles, but it never did leak. Can you believe that it has taken this long to get a new one? I finally got a little paper that states that my roofer absolves me of all liens against materials, etc. Thank the good Lord for that.
