Today was terrific! (Apart from both me & my cat being sick! )
It was sunny & warm here (for winter), just lovely! So I opened all the doors & windows & let some fresh air through my little terrace house... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! And the sensation of sun on skin, while I was sitting outside for a bit, was just sensational! Better than any drug!

.. and if you go back a wee bit further, nimh, you will notice that OTHER folk passed on hugs that you so sorely needed at the time! :wink:

... and they were all much appreciated, obviously.

It was sweet <nods>.

Still, virtual hugs are not the same ... not nearly the same. I could still do with a real one <nods>

Do we have any A2Kers in the Netherlands who can assist here?

I'm going home for a long weekend in early August tho, and am probably going to stop on the way to meet my German friend ... she's nice ... ;-)

That's good, nimh! Exactly the same here, but I have a nasty virus to blame! Having a hard time, hey? Sorry to hear it.

Yeah, just a bunch of things I'm grumpy about - at least viruses pass by again, eh!

On the other hand, I much prefer being grumpy over being sick - I hate being sick ... so my commiserations there.

Thank you! Yeah, grumpiness has sort of more energy to it! I'd prefer to be grumpy, too!

E.G. just finally submitted this horrible grant proposal that has overtaken our lives (but which I got to help with, that part was fun) and he came home at a more or less usual time last night and went to work this morning so I *still* don't have the promised relief/ light at the end of the tunnel and man do I need it. I've been running on fumes for weeks if not months. I'm more resigned and whupped than grumpy, which is not a good sign.

This weekend is supposed to be it -- I look forward to feeling human again.

I just came back from an hours walk. I feel pretty good but I have a minor headache. I am watching Big Brother right now and Everybody Loves Raymond is gonna come in about 10 minutes. I love that show !

I feel almost as good as I felt yesterday.........



GUESS WHERE I WAS.............









Went to my boy's graduation at his University, got a massive lump in my throat as he was called onto the stage, and I was THAT close to blubbering like a girlie.

The ceremony was followed by a Pimms or three on the lawn outside, where the sun was shining and a string quartet murdered some Bach and Handel.
Ate a cucumber sandwich or two, took about a hundred photos and almost blubbered some more on several occasions. The stiff upper lip is in need of a service, obviously.

All in all, it was a great day, and one of the proudest moments of my life.

Right....enough of this silliness....back to the humour threads.
