@BillRM,
Dummy, these are people who misapplied sanction to protected speech.

None of this went to the Supreme Court, no laws regarding hate speech or hate speech predicates in sentencing were overthrown.

You're welcome to try again.

Cheez.

@Baldimo,
Ask the guy who started it, TonyRM.

But since you asked me anyways .......

I think you might be interested to know that the Journalism teacher who said, ''...we need some muscle here ....", who resigned an honor position, has been suspended from her real job pending a review.

When are you going to start defending, wrongly of course, her "free speech"? I say she had the freedom to speak unprotected speech freely, but now she possibly (after due process) gets sanctioned for making unprotected speech ie: inciting violence on that poor student journalist.

What do you say?

@bobsal u1553115,
Once more the Koch brothers had shown no love for the constitution and it normally so call left wing people that are supporting the bill or rights for everyone including the far far right.

That how you get Jewish lawyers defending the KKK and the Nazis for example.

Off hand I know of no far right group that care for the constitution no matter who is the target of the government.

That what I been talking about not adding to sentences for so call hate involved in some criminal misdeed.

You are the one that went off on your silly tangent that have zero to do with the right to express so call hate speech on a public campus.

Bob I know you love to play silly games and keep changing the subject but what the hell.

Anyone can express the opinion that blacks are sub-human and that is not a crime of any kind and on a public campus no matter what the speech code might be it is protected speech,

Now if you then go behind some black person and hit him or her over the head with a metal rod for example your express opinion that blacks are sub-human can be used to added to your times behind bar.

But once more if there is no criminal act such as an assault then your speech by itself in not a crime of any kind.

Now I know you love to blow smoke but I question if the readers of this thread can not see you doing so.

Yet another person robbed of his free speech!

Suspect arrested on threat to black Michigan Tech students
Source: Detroit Free Press

Police arrested someone suspected of posting a threat to black students through social media at Michigan Technological University, the school announced this morning via Twitter.

The threat, the contents of which haven't been revealed, was made through Yik Yak, an app used to make anonymous posts that are sorted by location. The app recently gained attention when it was used to make threats to black students after protests at the University of Missouri.

Michigan Tech, a university with about 7,000 students on the western side of the Upper Peninsula, sent a campus-wide notification of the threat on Thursday. It increased police presence and made counseling services available for a two-hour window on Thursday night, according to a campus news release. The tweet today indicates the suspect was arrested late Thursday night and is being held at Houghton County Jail.

“It's important to remember that we are a community and will not tolerate threats to any member of our family,” said Michigan Tech President Glenn Mroz in a statement Thursday “It's time we watch out for one another.”

Tamir Rice shooting: Prosecutor releases yet another "expert opinion."
Source: The Guardian

Policeman who shot dead Tamir Rice acted 'reasonably', says expert

Victim’s family angry as county prosecutor accused of dripping expert opinions
before grand jury investigation into Cleveland killing completed

Oliver Laughland and Jamiles Lartey in New York
Friday 13 November 2015 16.32 GMT

The prosecutor investigating the fatal police shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice has released another expert opinion which describes the actions of the officer involved as “objectively reasonable”.

The new expert opinion, written by W Ken Katsaris, a veteran law enforcement trainer from Florida, also argues that while Rice’s death in November 2014 was a “tragedy”, it would “also be a tragedy” if officer Timothy Loehmann lost his job.

Rice, who was playing with a toy pellet gun in a park in Cleveland, Ohio was shot dead by Loehmann less than two seconds after he was encountered by police. The incident sparked outcry around the US and the continued delay on a decision over whether to prosecute Loehmann has also drawn widespread criticism.

The Katsaris opinion is the third to be released by Cuyahoga county attorney Timothy McGinty. All three opinions have argued that Loehmann was justified in using lethal lethal force against Rice, but questions about the impartiality of the first two experts have subsequently been raised.

Lawyers for the Rice family told the Guardian that McGinty’s decision to continue to drip feed expert opinions before the grand jury process was completed was a “complete evil misuse” of the process.

@bobsal u1553115,
Oh? in what way as once more the constitution grant you the right to say hateful things as long as those things do not contain a direct threat to harm someone.

Saying that you are going to go out and killed blacks is illegal, but anything short of that is protected speech for example saying society would be better off if whites would start to killed blacks is protected speech.

William Luther Pierce wrote two racist books one that was used as a guide line for the Oklahoma City bombing that killed hundreds as well as being the founder of a hate group by the name of the National Alliance however as he never did any criminal act himself the government could not do anything to him no matter how must blood he might have on his hand.

@bobsal u1553115,
Of course no matter how sad the death of this child happen to be on it face the cop acted correctly in engaging someone who is pointing a firearm at him.

As the tip on the toy gun that indicate that the toy was indeed a toy had been removed and the information that the 911 caller have questions if it was a real weapon or not was not pass onto the cops so they could have no clue that the weapon being pointed at them might be a toy.

Life and death depend on judgments that must be made within a tiny fraction of a second and it is very unreasonable to think given the situation that any cop would not had fired.

Bullshit as direct threats to do harms to others had never been protected speech and no one on this thread had claimed otherwise.

Another example of you playing silly games.

I would be wondering who removed the bright orange barrel plug from his toy? Those are there for the very reason of this case. To prevent a cop from shooting someone who had such a toy.

@BillRM,
Have you ever heard about "fighting words". Its a class of unprotected speech. It just is not protected by the First Amendment. Hate Speech also isn't protected even if there is no direct threat made.

Give it up, TonyRM. You're just not up on your First Amendment rights.

The victim very often shares blame for what happened, they helped to create the situation where bad things predictably happened. Pain is a great teacher, but it is up to us to learn the lessons, it is up to us to resist being a victim. The left encourages people to become victims because they need victims to drive their agenda, they use the existence of victims to come after the rights of the people, to put more power in government and other authority institutions. Enough. Me, I dont want there to be victims, and while that is not possible we can work to cut down on the number of victims.

@bobsal u1553115,
The problem with you guys on the left is that you NEVER see it as the fault of the person but it is always someone else's fault. No one is ever to blame for their own situation...

Who removed the barrel plug that was there for his protection?

If the LEO would have seen the barrel plug he would have know it was not a real gun. Instead someone removed the barrel plug because it made the weapon look more realistic and because of that, the kid was shot. Who removed the barrel plug?

The question also is how long had that plug been removed and if it been any length of time why did not the parents see it and removed the toy from the kid.

The University of Missouri football couch just quit. Decided this BS is not worth his time. He does not seem to be ready to tell us exactly why, he is blaming it on serious ongoing medical issues. But these medial issues are nothing new, what is happening on campus is new.
