Don't feel guilty, heeven.

Take a coupla days worth of ciggie money and go and buy some beads or a book or some lingerie or something otherwise distracting (and unconnected to smoking).

Absolutely true, and it was good. Now I see why your ladies are so hung up on the circulation part.
(Like Viagra without the side effects!)

Go Heeven!

Guilt is good, heeven, use the old irish guilt (I can say that, sort of, though I don't qualify re having lived there.)

Actually I don't mean that. Ne'er mind guilt. Glory is where it's at. You'll get off on it sometime, the pleasure of not smoking, it just probably won't be in the next few days, or maybe it will, but only in little bits.

Is there a bead store near by? We have one two blocks from where I work, I have to watch out or I could inhabit it.
But thing would be to attach beads to some exotic satin dress.. oh, never mind.

I hesitate to mention drawing, but drawing is wonderful. I recommend a book by a fellow named Nicolaides called the Natural Way to Draw. Often found in used book stores now, probably available at Amazon (heh, via a2k) for pennies, it describes various exercises to train eye hand coordination, and also lighten the hand into gestural drawing. Way too many exercises, only the most fervent do what appear to be assignments, but the basic stuff in the book is a pleasure to learn. I think it is one of the key books of my life - and now I sound like Bill with Rand... but, hey, it added a great deal of amusement for me.

Shocked I'm no authority, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess that THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBILITY OF FEELING THAT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS, though I am hoping it comes up soon.

Anyway though,

Go Heeven!

How dare you! Evil or Very Mad If I didn't know, better, I'd think my inspiration was trying to get me to smoke again. Tough night. But no worries.

DAY 17 and I woke up dreaming I was falling asleep with a cigarette in bed. Shocked . So far I'm still looking for a cigarette 12 to 15 times a day... but it's usually not so disappointing when I realize I don't smoke. I have even smiled at the thought a couple of times. Smile . I'm pretty sure the poison/addiction factor is gone and it's all psychological from here on out.

I seem to require less sleep now and I typically wake up 30 to 60 minutes earlier. I have whiter teeth already!, and I'm sure I smell considerably better too. Senses of smell and taste are still not all that strong but they are improving. My mouth runs a little more freely when I get upset; absent the distraction and "calming effect" of smokingÂ… but I'm guessing this will subside when I'm totally accustomed to not smoking (non-smokers don't seem to have this problem). While I know that I would still enjoy a cigarette immensely, I am very glad I quit. Thanks again for the encouragement everyone. Ya'll really did help! ((((((((everyone))))))))

No Cheating
No worries
No problem

Haven't heard from you Heeven? Confused

SO pleased to read your good report, and only sorry that you won't be in Costa Rica when I plan to visit so that we can celebrate with whatever drink they have there and NO cigarettes! White teeth are GOOD and your clothes and breath are already sweeter, so your near and dear should be pleased!

OB, I knew your stubborness would get you through the beginning steps and will keep you on course for the rest. When dumping cigs, stubborness is good.

Bill, I used to dream I'd had a cigg the night before and would get furious with myself - until I realized it was just a dream. Those dreams went on, periodically, for months.

You're right about the calming affect thing. Ciggs being a calming tool is like a crutch. Once you stop using the crutch, your ability to calm yourself gets much better - so you don't even notice it.
