Don Knotts appeared on Bobby Benson and the B Bar B Riders. He played a character named Windy. I had him pegged for a grizzled old Walter Brennan type. Imagine my surprise when he appeared on television.

Ok, time to find a switch for my train of thought.
Probably wasn't musical/variety...
Police or detective show?

Man With a Camera
WWII combat camera man becomes a crime photographer. I forgot who starred with Bronson and don't know if it was early 60s or late 50s. Ran two or three seasons.

You've got some memory, Edgar!

Whose tag line was :
"Well, I'll be a dirty bird"?

Oh, and I did see that Bronson joined the cast of a western called, I think, Empire in its last season. I never saw the show.

The last question:
Which 50s tv western featured a man who earned a law degree via correspondence school?

"...with a heart full of song
and a rifle and a volume of the law..."

It's weird what pops out of memory sometimes.
