What is Going on in Sochi?

This Olympics is a debacle.

The Russian government should be ashamed. Between the deplorable conditions, the homophobia and the dog massacre....I would be embarrassed to be Russian.

Do we have any Russians here? I'd love to hear their side of this story. I fully understand that the US media is biased and I'd really like to hear the other side.

@Bella Dea,
Dog massacre? Have I missed something awful?

Remember, I'm just about to go to bed, so don't upset me too much.

@Bella Dea,
The Russian government has everything to be proud of, starting with the very best ruler they've had since Tsar Peter.

Consider the difference:

and ask yourself whose government needs to be ashamed.

@Bella Dea,

Honestly, I have no idea what people have against the dictatorial, deceitful, ruthless bastard power mongers.

I'm now going to give my dog a hug.

I am not even going to justify that with a comment. Other than this one, of course.

@Bella Dea,

its about the athletes, let them compete in peace. As my grandfather always said about his native Ukraine.

The Olympics bore me, it's far more fun watching youtube and liveleak vids of krap unskilled russki drivers ending upside down in a ditch, and russki drunks fighting each other in the street..Smile

Did I touch a wee nerve?
We have Nascar, you have soccer, both are watched with similar passion.
I have no idea about cricket except as a reason to consume more gin.

@farmerman,
Gin?

Pimms, or Best Bitter. Lager if the weather is clement.

Only in that I'm fed up of ignorant people making ignorant statements that have no basis in fact.

Everyone watches football, it's the World's number one sport.

“Everything I know about morality and the obligations of men, I owe it to football." Albert Camus.

When you can find a quotation about Nascar from someone of Camus' status you might have a point.

@Lordyaswas,
Ive had Pimms but more as a mixed gin and fruity liqueur . The only word that does it some justice was BLECCHHH.
