I did hear something about a love child, Bill. I would love to think that his genes have been passed on. If not...it is the world's loss. Maybe the genes have been passed on...but none of us will ever know about it. (Those things happen!)

He had at least one son who did reach adulthood even if the son went to the dark side of becoming an engineer....LOL

That beside any love children he might had have in his whole scale cheating on his second wife.

Alarm Bells for Christie: Hoboken Mayor Met with the U.S. Attorney’s Office

Quote:
When federal prosecutors want to talk to someone on a Sunday, it should sound a really loud alarm bell for the people being investigated. Yes, it’s more bad news for Chris Christie this Sunday evening, as the allegations discussed make the Republican Governor’s Bridgegate scandal look like child’s play.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer said she met with federal prosecutors today at their request, to discuss her allegations that Christie’s lieutenant governor threatened to withhold Sandy aid on behalf of the Governor, unless she approved a development project.

Ryan Hutchins at The Star-Ledger revealed that Zimmer said she met for hours with staff from the U.S. Attorney’s Office today, and she turned over documents including a copy of her daily journal.

@Moment-in-Time,
Majority of Americans Now Think Christie is Lying About Involvement In Bridgegate

By: Justin Baragonamore from Justin Baragona
Monday, January, 20th, 2014, 7:07 pm

On Monday, Pew Research released its latest poll and it is only going from bad to worse for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Compared to last year at this time, twice as many people around the country now have a negative view of the embattled Republican. Last January, shortly after Superstorm Sandy, only 17% of Americans had an unfavorable view of Christie, compared to 40% with a favorable view and 42% with no opinion. Fast forward to this month, and now 34% have a negative view, with 28% with no opinion and 38% saying they see him in a favorable light.

However, the most troubling part of the poll for Christie and his 2016 Presidential ambitions is whether people believe him on Bridgegate. According to the poll, the vast majority of Americans feel he is being untruthful about his knowledge of the lane closures that crippled the town of Ft. Lee, New Jersey for days this past September. Of those who are aware of the story, 58% say they do not believe Christie, while 32% say they do. Democrats overwhelmingly don’t find the governor truthful on the matter, with 67% saying he is lying. Independents also have a hard time believing him, as 60% feel his version of the events are false. Even Republicans are somewhat split, with 48% saying he is telling the truth compared to 42% saying he isn’t.

In recent polls, there were still a majority of people who were aware of Bridgegate that felt that Christie had been truthful about his involvement. However, with more and more information coming out everyday, Christie’s credibility is taking a major hit. With this poll, he is showing a net negative of 26 points on his truthfulness. That is now a huge gap that may actually widen before it is all said and done. As much as he wished that it would all go away after doing a press conference and ‘apologizing’, the fact is that this story is going to be tied around his neck like an anchor.

@jcboy,
The two women...the mayor of Hoboken and the Lt. Governor...are telling two different stories.

One has to be lying.

This is huge!

The amazing part is that both women are going to have to testify to totally apposing "facts" under oath at some point.

Should be very interesting to watch this play out.

@Frank Apisa,
Let me remind y'all to "follow the money"
Even if Christie ordered the bridge fiasco it won't cause much collateral damage.
But the disbursements of Sandymoney, well that's a career killer for sure.

That proves the old saying, 'you can fool some of the people all of the time.' Most of them being republican.

@revelette2,
I suspect that our Lt. Governor is going to stonewall for a while...but then go into a "this is just a misunderstanding" mode.

My GUESS is that Kim Guadagno (the Lt. Gov.) will finally acknowledge that the real estate development and Sandy relief funding had both been discussed in her meeting with Dawn Zimmer (Hoboken mayor)...but that any notion that approval of the private development project was required in order for Sandy funds to be forthcoming...is a mistake on Zimmer's part.

It is going to be extremely messy...and I am glad that a federal prosecutor is going to be involved.

I expect that the New Jersey Democrats are more than happy to string this out for as long as they can...because more damage to Christie is almost certain to be in the offing.

Frankly, I think Christie and his people are in a cesspool up to their chins...and hoping against hope that no waves come along...and the state Democrats are all saying, "Let's play cannonball!"

Precisely! Zimmer's diary is now in the hands of the United States Attorney's office. And one of them (Dawn Zimmer) eagerly takes question after question from the media at large, appearing on cable news programs, MSNBC, CNN, etc., while Ms. Guadagno shrinks from the media refusing to be quizzed by scrutinizing reporters....it's almost as if she has something to hide and afraid to let too much daylight in. Under oath, New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will have to tell the truth or go to prison.

Dawn Zimmer is a courageous mayor and was shrewd to wait until it was safer for her to come forward; had she come forth earlier, she might have been destroyed by the Christi political machine.

The latest accuser is Carl Lewis, the famous former track star who once planned to run for the US senate as a Dem. He had been picked by Christie to run the state's fitness program. He is saying that Christie threatened to dump him from the fitness program were he to run against a Christie-backed candidate.

I don't know, don't really have a crystal ball or politically savvy enough to guess which way all this is going to go down, with a fizzle or fire works, but, I think the image of Christie being a blunt spoken straight politician is tarnished a little for the people he needed in order to be considered a real competition for Hillary (should she run.) If the polls continue to fall along the lines they are now, with the democrats and independents, then I think republicans might want to think of someone else.

Even though I don't have any definitive proof who is lying, my commonsense tells me Dawn Zimmer is the truthful one. Why should a somewhat timid-like mayor inject herself into this public scandal involving the Governor without a compelling motive?! Hoboken, according to the charts shown last night, was the worse city hit by Sandy because of its closeness to the Hudson River. The city was practically under water and the mayor was desperate. The Lt. governor looks like a lying politician. One feels much sympathy for the Hoboken mayor, Dawn Zimmer.
