C'mon, David. Get back to consciousness.
Yes; the spirit of personal liberty
has
not been extinguished in the South.
Living in NY, I found no trace of it, other than the proud defiance
by the users of
fireworks on the 4th of July, regardless of the law.
(That was pleasingly appropriate; the 4th of July was the
repudiation of law day.)
Year after year, there was not much recognition of the principle
of Individual Liberty at the expense of government jurisdiction
which that Day commemorates, other than the Mayor hollering
about
NOT setting off illegal fireworks, instead of supporting
the Spirit of the occasion. Years and decades went by and NO
politician that I can remember spoke of fighting for
LIBERTY;
it was just forgotten in NY, but not in the South.
That tells me that Southerners were better Americans
than my former nabors were. I was almost alone in putting out
the Flag in celebration of
Old Glory, on my block in Queens
on the 4th of July. I guess Sarah was
right.
I 'm pleased to know that u r not a commie; presumably not a nazi,
tho I did not ask that. Marx, Kennedy and Hitler were human beings
who enjoyed thinking for themselves.
