Ok, you've become suspicious. Things aren't making sense. Your gut is talking to you. You've got these feelings for the first time in 22 years. I'm a big believer in listening to one's gut. SO, the question becomes what to do next? You don't need to look at his phone any more - you know that he swiping the logs clean. You don't need to hire a PI either. First, I'd straight up tell him what my gut was telling me. Then, once he denied it, I'd let him know that I'd given thought to hiring a PI or showing up unannounced at his events. Then I'd offer to attend marriage counseling if he felt he was no longer happy in our relationship. Then, after he picked himself up off the floor at having all of this thrown at him, I'd wait and see what my gut was telling me over the next couple weeks. If I didn't like what I heard THEN I'd hire a PI or show up at his events unannounced.

@JPB,
Just read through some of your previous discussions and saw that your husband asked you for a divorce some time ago. Doesn't sound to me like he's fully invested in your relationship and hasn't been for some time.

You may want a PI and a lawyer.

Before they were married, my sister used to retreive her boyfs torn-up betting slips from the waste paper bin and piece them together in front of him like a jigsaw to see how much he'd been spending at the bookies.
He took it well and thought it was funny, and still went ahead and married her, but the marriage only lasted a couple of years, serves him right for marrying a cow like her..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
I think that relationships are far more complex than that. Particularly if you've spent you entire adult life together. There is a strong history of ups and downs and sometimes you just hope for the best. It's not a matter of stupidity.

@Romeo Fabulini,
You truly are a prince. You dad must swell with pride when you refer to your sister as a cow. How does your sister refer to you? If you don't know, I can offer a few suggestions.

@Romeo Fabulini,
This statement says more about you than your sister. So perhaps she shouldn't have married a gambling addict..perhaps the marriage ended to his unable to control his impulses..who really knows...calling your sister a cow?

How is hiring a detective different than snooping through a cell phone?

Well, I guess if you're gathering evidence for a courtroom, Ya gotta' do what ya gotta do. If you're not at that point, I just wouldn't.

I hope these are all rhetorical questions.

@roger,
Most divorces exist out of the confines of a courtroom . However, the partnership of marriage entails not only financial devastation ( which can be addressed in court only if you have the resources) but also personal devastation. Partners in life are in many ways like business partners...some will screw you over even after years of partnership. It simply is not only about emotional pain. Many invest financially and otherwise in the partnership of marriage. They let profitable opportunities slip for the sake of the family unit. For many every decision is made for the survival of the family u it..even at a personal expense

Relax, that's how brothers and sisters talk to each other, you should hear some of the things she's called me!
Anyway I don't know if you're a foreigner, but here in Britain cow is not a swearword, it's just a joky term for a woman who can be a bit of a cow at times..Smile
