The bigots migrated to the Republican Party.

@edgarblythe,
No they didn't. They're right there where they've always been.

@edgarblythe,
So are you saying that there are no bigots in the Democrat party?

@JoeBruno,
There are times when desperation is actually funny to watch.

Thanks for the entertainment, Joe.

For those minorities that are "loyal" to the Democratic Party and have less than positive beliefs about white folk, would that be Democrats being bigots?

@Foofie,
So Foofie, you are implying that Blacks, Asians, Hispanics and Jews are bigots based on only on their ethnicity? I think you are missing the point. This isn't about ethnicity, it is about bigotry and the politicians who appeal to them for votes. The party that is pursuing (and winning) the bigot vote in the past few decades is the Republicans.

In that past it was the Democrats appealing to bigots but that all changed during the Richard Nixon administration.

Republican bigots are bigots because of what they are doing and saying, not because of their ethnicity.

@mysteryman,
There are bigots everywhere, But to many Republicans it's a cottage industry.

@edgarblythe,
I disagree.
While I readily admit that there are bigots in the republican party, as there are in the democrat party, I think that those people looking for reasons to get offended take afew examples and blow them out of proportion.

@mysteryman,
Republican bigotry is so blatant I don't feel a need to post examples. Like Savoir Faire they are everywhere.

@edgarblythe,
Yet you ignore democrat bigotry and racial hatred.
I think you and others simply look for reasons to hate republicans or conservatives, so you get offended by any perceived slight.

@JoeBruno,
odd little website
hasn't been updated since the run up to the 2002 elections
the author seems to have impeachment of Bill Clinton as a primary interest

@mysteryman,
You don't know me at all if you think that MM. I acknowledged that bigots are pretty much everywhere. But Democrats don't pass laws designed to keep minorities from voting. They don't wear Obama masks and ask who wants to see Obama run over.

@JoeBruno,
OMG... it was written in 2001.
Before many of those listed died and are no longer in the Democratic party.

I love the list of "democrats" that filibustered the civil rights. I guess the author failed to check the latest party affiliation for some of those listed and the fact that the Republicans nominated someone that voted against it to be their Presidential candidate.

@edgarblythe,
But they marched in parades calling for the death of President Bush.
They opposed the civil rights act.
They used racial epithets like "hymietown" and accuse a white prosecutor of rape and kidnapping a little girl,just so they can continue the charade the little girl tried to perpetrate.

As for the Obama mask at the rodeo, so what?
It was an act, put on by a clown.
Would you have complained if the clown wore a mask of Bush?

Again, you are looking for reasons to get offended.

@Rockhead,
Have you ever been a rodeo clown?
That is an extremely dangerous job.
I support anyone that does that job.

@mysteryman,
that has zero to do with the act they put on.

I have rodeo clown friends, fwiw.

they think that was over the top racist as well.

@Rockhead,
Everything is "over the top racist" to someone.
Even the most vanilla, inoffensive, plain boring actout there will beconsidered offensive and racist to someone looking for an excuse to be offended.
