....Theirs is the first meaningful proof that some in law enforcement and the military are preparing to fight federal forces if the president wins his goal of sweeping gun control.

In a direct warning to Obama, the FBI and other agencies, the sheriffs wrote:
Quote:
"Make no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs our our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights--in particular Amendment II--has given them."....

There is an ever growing list of Law Enforcement Agencies nationwide that have
made it clear that they will not enforce Obama's American disarmament plan.

Actually, this is the first meaningful proof that some of the sheriffs in Utah are nuts.

Anyway, Gunga...aren't you one of the people who have been saying that gun control laws do not have a prayer of being passed.

So what is the point of this post?

I didn't make an "assumption" in the post that you referenced, H2O...let alone a false one.

One is reminded of the adage about stones and glass houses.

I think what has been left out of these "gun threads" is that not only is there the debate whether it is guns or people that kill people, but that guns SCARE people. That being said, the U.S. has maintained its primacy in technological innovation (aka, profitable corporations=wealthier shareholders=elite going to Heaven, as a Divine sign) by attracting to our shores the "best and brightest" from other countries. The truth be known, even with 300+ Americans, the U.S. does not have enough truly talented citizens to stay ahead of all foreign competition. Plus, by attracting the "best and brightest" from other countries, to the U.S., we are doing a bit of preventive maintanance in preventing other countries from optimizing their "best and brightest."

So, since gun ownership correlates to "true-blue" American types that love their guns, and trucks, and dogs, etc., these Americans are hard enough to live with as a neighbor, if one is from a less gun-toting country, let alone if the thought was only to borrow a cup of sugar from a neighbor, and the neighbor is one with a gun in a gun rack. An exaggeration, but the point is that guns scare people, especially many of the new immigrants that add to the value of corporate America.

So, the interpretation of the Second Amendment might be antithetical to the U.S. being a country for new money and old money to make more wealth, by attracting the "best and brightest," and gun adverse from the other nations of the world. In effect, the business of the country is business, not really was it the goal of keeping the masses at their "comfort level" when they go to sleep at night, in my opinion. This was always a country for the wealthy to truly enjoy, and own land, etc., and not for the working stiff to maintain a level of comfort, in my opinion again.

Lastly, just because the U.S. doesn't have a monarchy, doesn't mean it doesn't have an aristocracy of sorts, whose primary goal is to make money, since their protection is maintained by the people they hire for that job. In my opinion, we citizens are mostly like the deer in the king's forest; we think the forest is ours; however, the people in the castle know better.

Why must you constantly assert that people who disagree with you MUST BE ignorant and under-informed?

Do you honestly think you are exceptionally intelligent...and exceptionally informed...

...or are you simply addicted to being unnecessarily rude?
