Too bad they aren't willing to die for the 1st amendment, the third, the fourth, or the fifth. Sounds like they are picking and choosing the parts of the Constitution that they like and ignore parts that they don't.

Are you saying that liberals will join the right wingnuts in their attack on the Freedom of Speech and Religon (1st Admendment)? After all during the Replubican primary it seemed that Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, and Perry were in agreement that the US was an exclusively Xtian nation, something that is in violation of frwwdom of religon. Now we have the NRA and Wayne Pierre saying that the Newtown shooting was the result of freedom of speech, not the right to bear arms.

Something is askew in wingnut land Waterdude--the 1st amandment is under attack from the freedom haters on the right, not the left.

The attack on the constitution rights of individuals comes from the right. The second amendment is subtrafuge--the real allack is on the first, the fourth and the fifth.

BTW its working too, they've crammed the prisons with minor drug criminals, the patriot act gave them the opportunity to suspend 'habeus corpus' and to indefinity detain, to deny ex felons the rights of privacy and property and the right to 'bear arms'.

If you bother to open your eyes and to pay attention to something other than right wingnut agiprop, you soon come to realize the sneaky hand attacking liberties guarenteed by the US Constitution are from the right, not the left--the left is misdirection.

Under the guise of 'preserving the status quo' conservatives have been shown to repeatedly quash public speech. A big part of the present right wingnuts are the Christian Right which has demonstrated their ability to quash all religons but theirs (Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, and Perry are amoung those lastest of 1st Amendment haters). As for the fourth and fifth amendments, the rights against self incrimination and search and property seazure are under constant attack by the 'Patriot Act' and the 'War on Drugs' using catchprases like 'Law and Order' by the conservative right. Both of which only benefit rich contributors from the prison and military industrial complexes.

Even the Second Amendment was attacked by the right during desegregation, granted dixiecrats were Dems at the time, but Nixon saw the opportunity and the conservative Dixiecrats quickly became conservative Reps as that party sharply lost their reason and turned to the right.

Yes todays Dems have not been guiltless, but compared to the contemporary Reps they come far closer to being libertarian--.
