In a direct warning to Obama, the FBI and other agencies, the sheriffs wrote:
Quote:
"Make no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs our our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights--in particular Amendment II--has given them."....
Actually, this is the first meaningful proof that some of the sheriffs in Utah are nuts.
Fidelity to the Constitution is not "nuts."
You are correct, David, fidelity to the Constitution is not "nuts." But neither is being a sheriff "nuts"; or being in Utah "nuts."
But the sheriffs of Utah "warning the president of the United States; the FBI; and other agencies" that they (the sheriffs) will decide what they will enforce and not enforce...and that they will decide what is constitutional and what is not...is about as nuts as anything I've heard on this issue so far...AND I HAVE HEARD SOME VERY, VERY NUTTY THINGS...right here in A2K, in fact.
