How big is your gun? Or guns? Are they larger than your brain?

@BillRM,
So.. in all of China for one year and one event in Japan barely equates to one event in the US. I would that says the deadly nature of knifes per 100,000 is far less than that of guns.

Believe me, given a choice most parents would prefer their child's school be attacked by a madman with a knife as opposed to a madman with a gun.

@BillRM,
Sure, those knives exist..

but the wonder of it all is even with knives in EVERY home in the US guns still kill more than double the people that knives do.

Why does something that exists in only 40% of homes kill more than twice as many people as something that exists in every home?

Once more removed all guns and the total knives deaths will go up in one hell of a hurry as it is not guns or knives or pillows that kill it is people.

The tools they used is not all that important in the overall scheme of things.

If your wife find you are cheating and run you over a few times in a parking lot are you any less dead then if she had shot you with an assault gun?

Bill, nor any gun holder wants to answer this question honestly...Because they know the effective killing power of a gun compared to knives...They just like to play stupid...

He tried to clutch straws as to what a Christmas tree can do...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
Guns are a fine means/tool to kill people so what?

If a gun is used instead of a million other ways that is not as effective that does not mean that the person is one bit less dead.

The woman on trial now for stabbing her boyfriend to death and he is just as dead as if she had shot him with the gun she had with her also.

In fact she did shoot him but only after he was already dead from her knife attack.

@BillRM,
No one is saying knife attacks won't go up but actual number of people killed will go down..

Here's a stat for you. Guns make up only 5% of attempted suicides but guns make up 50% of completed suicides. Guns are deadlier than other ways.

It's the same thing with homicide. Guns don't make up the majority of assaults but guns make up 68% of assaults that end in homicide.

The tool you use makes a hell of a lot of difference. I can build a house driving nails in with a screwdriver but I can build 10 houses in the same time if I use a hammer instead. The tool MAKES a difference.

With a car, she would have to find me in a parking lot. With a gun she could find me in a building or on the road or sitting in my car. It is more likely to kill with a gun because the opportunities are far more. Surely you can understand that Bill.

@BillRM,
Do you look at homicides with guns in this exact same way?

That is our point...

And if you do, If you see what someone can do with a knife...

Why would anyone not be willing to admit how deadly a gun can be? Or how dangerous it is in the wrong hands? And defend the right to bear one...no matter what...and not be willing to have stricter gun laws? That will limit these people...And save lives...

If you made stricter laws...Who does it actually, physically, hurt?

Sorry in the year 2010 20 children died in China from knives attacks and eight also died in an attack in Japan.

If I was like the anti guns nuts I would have been happier if the last knife attack on school children in China had results in deaths instead of serous harm instead.

You people love blood and deaths if it promote your anti-gun program and have zero real concern for the safety of children as that would take steps that are not anti gun such as having added security on sites.

Added security will save lives not any anti gun program that will work just as well as the anti drugs programs in keeping street drugs out of the hands of people who are willing to break the laws.

Not likely and as the criminals will be armed and know that the civilians will not be the guns deaths is likely to go up not down as well as the gun crimes as a whole.

But the issue you refuse to address is that the number of people dead will be less simply because the tool is less effective.

Let's look at the knife attacks in schools in China
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_attacks_in_China_%282010%E2%80%932012%29

In 7 attacks in schools in China 25 died and 115 were injured. That is a 1 to 4 kill to injure ratio.
In the Newtown attack the ratio was 27 killed and 2 injured.
In Columbine 12 killed 14 injured
In Red Lake 10 killed 12 injured.
