An avid gun holder has no reputable answer for this...It is one thing for them to want a gun for personal reasons...and it is a free right that they currently have....It is just plain stupid for them to argue about the effectiveness of its killing ability...with lame comparisons to other things guards can have such as a knife...

How hard would it be for someone be able to kill 27 other people with one knife?

Sure people can die from any such thing...But most things...Even weapons....Are mostly designed to wound someone and bring them down....Or hurt them so they leave you alone...Not even most weapons are made to kill on instant impact...Like a gun is...

That alone should bring up red flags, and sound all kinds of bells and whistles...That that thinking is not normal, or rational...

I think we, and a lot of other posters, are just wasting our time responding to BillRM's illogical and absurd nonsense. He's not reasonable.

Thankfully, a majority of people in my country have finally awakened to the need for better gun control, and they have started to demand it.

I see a reluctant government being pushed into action by a populace that has finally had enough of their passivity.

At very close ranges I might prefer a knife and the only reason I might not go with a knife is that I personally am not train in the killing use of a combat knife.

In crowds or a subway car and such where the average distant between people are small and the clear firing lanes are not there the firearm had lost most of it advantages.

If you thought for one second a knife would be equal...we have to assume both you and your wife would be proficient in knife use.

Acknowledge all that, Bill. It's okay. People won't dislike you because you have to acknowledge things like this from time to time.

thatpublic display of weaponry is like the school lot bully whp tries to intimidate by feathers and display.
Sad but theres a few on the board who would make this a "big dick" contest. Those who are required to carry (except for uniformed cops) would rather not have it known they are carrying

As means of doing mass killings I had said over and over that even a few gallons of gasoline have proven a better tool on this thread less alone home make explosives and so on.

My wife and I do not travel on subways or move in large crowds very often where a knife could indeed be a more useful weapon then a firearm and we are both train on firearms not fighting knives beside.

If people like you and Firefly who are trying to sell the idea that firearms are in all situations the most deadly means of killings and in fact once more as far as doing mass killings it way way down the list in my opinion.
