Nonsense. It is entirely valid to point out that gun availability has little impact on homicide rates.

How hard would it be for someone be able to kill 27 other people with one knife?

How about with a bomb?

XXSpadeMasterXX wrote:
Sure people can die from any such thing...But most things...Even weapons....Are mostly designed to wound someone and bring them down....Or hurt them so they leave you alone...Not even most weapons are made to kill on instant impact...Like a gun is...

Balderdash.

There is nothing wrong with people bringing up facts that prove you wrong.

Falsely accusing people of your own deranged extremism does not change the reality that you are the deranged extremist.

Thankfully, a majority of people in my country have finally awakened to the need for better gun control, and they have started to demand it.

I hope they keep the whining to a minimal level when they realize they've been defeated. It's an annoying sound.

That was a bit insensitive Bill on this thread.

If people don't want to have to listen to us defend our freedom, they should stop attacking our freedom.

By and large, the states with high gun ownership have high violence rates.

I doubt that. It certainly isn't the case with international comparisons.

Have you taken note when ever they make claims there seem a complete lack of links to back up those claims?

I'm sure they have some sort of shoddy "public health findings" that claim it somewhere (unless all their quacks have flown south for the winter).

Not likely that there is any truth to it however.

Yup, it is possible. But tell me, if a guy attacked you with a knife...and you had a gun, would you still think you only had a 50/50 chance?

At very close ranges I might prefer a knife and the only reason I might not go with a knife is that I personally am not train in the killing use of a combat knife.

In crowds or a subway car and such where the average distant between people are small and the clear firing lanes are not there the firearm had lost most of it advantages.

Nice try, Bill...but no cigar. From everything you have been saying, your weapon of choice for defense would be a gun, because you see it as vastly superior as a killing devise. If you thought for one second a knife would be equal...we have to assume both you and your wife would be proficient in knife use.

Acknowledge all that, Bill. It's okay. People won't dislike you because you have to acknowledge things like this from time to time.

Watch where you spit the propaganda at old man.
And you think some of the left wingers do not try to become "constitutional scholars" when a tragedy strikes?

We are no different than the countries that are so uncivil they carry guns in the streets. America to any outsider doesn't quite look like the safe place people try to paint of this country as peace and prosperity. It's beyond belief, this love affair with guns.

Man shops at Utah JCPenney while carrying assault rifle

Quote:
A man in Riverdale, Utah walked into a local JCPenney department store this week armed to the teeth, carrying a holstered handgun, a semi-automatic assault rifle and extra clips on his belt.

@oralloy,
What does a gun like that cost retail oralloy?

It looks about 50 bucks production assuming there's a line assembly.

Why do you keep mentioning the Taliban. They are freedom lovers aren't they?

Freedom favours might being right and that doesn't take long to become tyranny. Stalin was pretty free in his early years.

thatpublic display of weaponry is like the school lot bully whp tries to intimidate by feathers and display.
Sad but theres a few on the board who would make this a "big dick" contest. Those who are required to carry (except for uniformed cops) would rather not have it known they are carrying

I do??????????????

As means of doing mass killings I had said over and over that even a few gallons of gasoline have proven a better tool on this thread less alone home make explosives and so on.

My wife and I do not travel on subways or move in large crowds very often where a knife could indeed be a more useful weapon then a firearm and we are both train on firearms not fighting knives beside.

If people like you and Firefly who are trying to sell the idea that firearms are in all situations the most deadly means of killings and in fact once more as far as doing mass killings it way way down the list in my opinion.

Let see when the bar owner friend of mine was carrying money from his bar to the drop box at the bank I see nothing wrong with him having a cannon of a civil war pistol on his belt.

Nor do I think it is not a wise precaution at gun shops to have all the employees openly heavily armed and as a result I can not remember such shops being rob of millions of dollars of firearms when they are open for business at least.

Didn't think you would be able to do it!

Anyway, like I said: If you truly think guns and knives are equal as killing devices...just show up at a gun fight with a knife. The other participants will love ya for it!

I worry about Obama especially now with all this NRA crap. I worry about inauguration day, if something happens to him that civil war Glenn Beck called for just might come true. Be afraid of these republican christian lunatics, they carry a cross and a bible to guide their hate and bigotry.
