I realize that I am a central focus in your life, Joe, but you'll just have to be more patient.

Patient for what? You said that Japan had reasons for attacking Pearl Harbor. You must have known what those reasons were, otherwise you wouldn't have said that. So why would you have to wait to identify those reasons?

@joefromchicago,
Happy New Year, Joe.

It's been a long one, hasn't it? - filled with many surprising events.

It was a "provocation" to respond to Japan's campaign of genocide against their neighbors, by no longer allowing our resources to be used to fuel that campaign of genocide???

The A-bombings were not based on some calculation of how much punishment Japan deserved. They were based on the desire to make Japan surrender.

Had Japan surrendered earlier, they would not have been nuked.

Had Japan surrendered later, they would have been nuked more.

I recall a story in the NY Times Sunday Magazine, of how an American safecracker stole, copied & replaced the Japanese code from the Japanese Embassy.

@joefromchicago,
You want me to answer your questions without extending the same courtesy to me? No, I'm afraid we can't proceed on that basis. As long as you selectively quote from my posts and ignore my questions, I have no problem doing the same with yours.

@JTT,
Here was your entire post JTT.
Funny thing is, I don't see any questions that Joe failed to answer.

JTT wrote:

We know they were a series of blatant lies but that hardly makes them irrelevant. It actually makes the indictment of the US that much more serious. It makes the war crimes that much more egregious.

In the case of I & A, the US had no reason whatsoever for the vicious attack on those defenseless countries.

Japan had valid reasons to attack the US.

Now that we have cleared up your confusion about Joe not answering questions perhaps you can have the courtesy to answer his.

@parados,
You don't know what you are talking about, Parados. You're just paradosing.

And you're hardly the one to be pointing the finger at others for not replying; you are an extraordinary coward.

You haven't asked me any questions in this thread, so there is nothing for me to answer. If I have not answered a question of yours in another thread, the proper place to address that is in that thread, not this one. Furthermore, I didn't selectively quote from your post. You made a factual statement. You said Japan had valid reasons to attack the US, so you must know what those reasons are. There's really nothing more that needs to be added. But if you believe that an answer to my question requires additional context, you should supply it with your answer.

There is no question mark in your post. There is nothing that looks like a question. Do you have different rules of grammar?

I am still waiting for jtt to explain his statement that Japan was justified to commit war crimes in WW2.
Jtt has never explained that statement either.
