@ehBeth,
I guess arches in Florida aren't so bad after all... Smile

Look! They even have arches within arches within arches...

@MMarciano,
I so agree (you know that already).

Just what a nurse needs, to come home and nurse a capable adult guest.

Glad she's fine with it. Looks like y'all will live through this and could have some fun.

Florida has long been famous for its unusual design aesthetic.

@dlowan,
I like some of the Art Deco stuff. The rest of it is pretty much variations of tack.

Meanwhile, great news that the queen has been found a castle. Hope the visit goes well!

@dlowan,
I haven't checked this out yet..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_Architecture,_100_Years,_100_Places

I looked up the work of Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta in Florida, but he's not my cup of tea to begin with (I'll take my Luis Barragan straight, thanks); here's the one building I found:

To Soz, I have a soft spot for art deco myself.

@dlowan,
This one is less Barraganesque than much of his stuff - but then more like others work. I don't hate it. At least we are talking about architecture.

@ossobuco,
That sounds petulant - I'm fine with that house visual.
I just wish there were more going on (far as I can tell) in Florida architecture.

I looked up land archs for Morgan and it was a pain in the ass, no plain list.
I looked up archs and see oddly little of interest.
Me, with my interests, have been inquiring for years in how to secure housing, including trailer housing, in hurricane situations.

@MMarciano,
Not your imagination. Regardless of the number, it typically drags in other, more or less random cuts from the forum and plops them around with no reason apparant to anyone but itself.
