@ossobuco,
I learned adobo first as a filipino word, but it crosses continents.

@ossobuco,
translation -
http://lyricstranslate.com/en/la-cattiva-strada-bad-road.html

I'll work on a translation myself - translating amuses me, including my failed attempts. Not to argue with the link, I'm sure that person knows more than I do.

@ossobuco,
Fabrizio de Andre -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabrizio_De_André

This is a link to the present wikipedia editing - not the same as last I read. I'm of course not him, but he interests me. The last wikipedia take on him I read was much more informative.

Katy gets him.

On the other hand, she might like Reagan music and I don't know about it.

Umm, wiki is opening with his name spelled wrong. Hackers. . . . yes, I checked my spelling.

@ossobuco,
Sorry - I'm dealing with something that happened with my first computer, that the cursor runs mad over white space.

This is probably not a good sign of computer life.

JLNobody, I hope you look at that for the language, how it sounds to you.
Katy photos are on page 20.

@ossobuco,
Ms. Hairy Woof has a new batch of dog-breath cookies at hand. Well, in the freezer. She even likes them very cold, and likes them more than the peanut butter dudes I threw together a while ago.

This time I forgot at the last minute to add the oil (busy grinding flax seeds and so on) and it didn't matter.

@ossobuco,
Miss Velvet Ears has had a social two days. Yesterday she got to see Roger and his sister, who used to be her owner but is unable to take care of her now. Sweet scene, the two of them in my kitchen, one being petted, the other coo-ing sweet nothings. Today she got to see Roger again, always a big paw deal for her.

@ossobuco,
And those two front paws get heavy after a while when they're carrying half the weight of a reasonable fascimile of a wolf.

I loved seeing those two in a more natural setting. Thanks, Osso.

Grande Announcement!! Attention, Attention!

Miss Beautiful now weighs exactly what I've been aiming at, 57 pounds, 10 pounds down from her weight on the chart, and looks spectacularly fit. Now, to keep her there, between 55 and 60. She got a dog cookie when I found out - Roger weighed Katy at his sister's care facility (where everybody likes her), with her happy to climb on the scale.

@ossobuco,
Good news indeed for Katy's well-being, less weight , less stress on joints . You've been a good dog-mom. I'd love to have you as my own personal trainer and dietician. Smile

You can see what a good job you did re emoticon use.

@nextone,
Snort! I presently have various insufficiencies on all that.

The next trick is to be able to type a smile, and so on, without having it show up as an emoticon. I still haven't mastered this, so you're on your own. : )

There are probably websites that explain this stuff.

If I hadn't skipped a space, that would be a smilie. I think if you type it as you are now seeing it, it will show up as a smilie.
I think.

@mckenzie,
mckenzie, I don't remember now about your dogface avatar - - - which I've always liked.

tell us. I think you told us before, but I've forgotten.

Katy's weight loss has been May to December, a famous combination.

I attribute it to the guy at the veterinarian's place, re how he maintained his own dog of similar attributes.

@dlowan,
Well, the drugstore camera is long gone. If all else fails, I'll spring for another one.

I did find, when I was looking to charge my cellphone in my car, the charging apparatus - and a whole roll of actual film, which may have baked in New Mexico sun for years. So, I have dug out my old nikon, in a what the hell mode. I might have apropos batteries in the freezer.
This leaves me with two cameras to avoid dealing with, the nikon and the digital one.

@ossobuco,
Osso, that’s our (well, my) Maxwell Smart, aka Maxie, a miniature poodle, soon to be 12 years old.

He is the fifth or sixth member of our family, depending on whether we count him before or after our new son-in-law (((smile))).

He’s faced a number of challenges in his 11+ years. He was diagnosed with an IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) in 2005. That took a couple of years to get under control. In the past two and a half years, he’s had four knee surgeries and one abdominal surgery. Last month, he was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease. It’s treatable, though, so we’ll see him through that, too. The vet says he’ll be around for another six or seven years …

Yesterday was the day for Katy's monthly trip for nail trimming and my dogfood buying and treat buying. She still gets homemade good breath cookies - hah, I can't smell much at all, so only consider breath a possible health sign and friends asked re hers aren't complaining so far. I liked ehBeth's recipe for those dog cookies, then I modified, sans charcoal.

I kept with the blue meanies, that is, her senior Blue Buffalo Life Protection chicken and brown rice concoction. I am tempted to switch to an adult lamb rice mix, as she is a tad bored, but it's a few dollars more, may be missing bennies for her age (nearing 12) and meanwhile she's getting more interested since I sprinkle a fourth of a mackerel potato egg fishcake in with the mix. I splurged, though, by purchasing a beef knuckle bone, a Merrick The Tank.

Doggie Nirvana is occurring as we speak.

I'm thinking I need to check out Keller's, my good local butcher shoppe, to see if they hang on to knuckle bones. (Yes, I now know cooked beef bones can be baddies - or I think I know.) Anyway, lovedogface is not getting any of my cooked bones until I hear at length otherwise.

@ossobuco,
Yay! You are using Blue Buffalo food? Good for you! Excellent quality..no cereal or unhealthy by-product fillers and 7-yr-old Brady maintains good energy with it.

NAIL trim: I'm bad with doing this regularly. I have to buy a nail-trimmer and do it myself ($10-$12 is too much to pay when I can do it myself. I studied a youtube clip on how to do it right). I've been debating this far too long and he really needs it done EVERY month not every 2. He has black thick nails..so I was uncomfy but it is no longer an option.

For Brady, I'm heading to pet store for my trip for the same stuff. I know he has had in his past these excellent (non-food) chewing bones called Nyla bones. I'm going to pick one up. He chews on it and helps his teeth.

And then I'll purchase some of these Denta-stix or similar that helps his breath. He doesn't mind my brushing his teeth with the finger-puppet tooth brush. Going back to doing that regularly. He gets a little squirmy but he's a passive dog with me..especially if I hold him and coo to him. He allows the brushing cause it's really not that bad.

FWIW, as a treat I have fed Brady (cooked) beef neck bones. There have been no splinters that he could choke on. I'm rechecking this out with my vet to make sure they bless it.

BTW,Brady is not a face or nhand licker at all....but when I heat up the neck b0nes and feed them to him, he is in heaven!

@ossobuco,
Since Rags brings up brushing teeth, do you think Katy is about due for a cleaning?
