Yesterday was the day for Katy's monthly trip for nail trimming and my dogfood buying and treat buying. She still gets homemade good breath cookies - hah, I can't smell much at all, so only consider breath a possible health sign and friends asked re hers aren't complaining so far. I liked ehBeth's recipe for those dog cookies, then I modified, sans charcoal.
I kept with the blue meanies, that is, her senior Blue Buffalo Life Protection chicken and brown rice concoction. I am tempted to switch to an adult lamb rice mix, as she is a tad bored, but it's a few dollars more, may be missing bennies for her age (nearing 12) and meanwhile she's getting more interested since I sprinkle a fourth of a mackerel potato egg fishcake in with the mix. I splurged, though, by purchasing a beef knuckle bone, a Merrick
The Tank.
Doggie Nirvana is occurring as we speak.
I'm thinking I need to check out Keller's, my good local butcher shoppe, to see if they hang on to knuckle bones. (Yes, I now know cooked beef bones can be baddies - or I think I know.) Anyway, lovedogface is not getting any of my cooked bones until I hear at length otherwise.
