@roger,
It's multifaceted. Whine bark wimper low song bark growl low song bark. Very complicated, even multiplied, mixed with thunder moves.

I don't have a tape recorder and even if I did, I'd not.

I know she'll defend me. Very dear.

@ossobuco,
You are likely right that it isn't her strongest bark. On the other hand, a week or two ago I let her out and she was barking to beat the band, almost flying around the small back yard in consternation and rage at thunder and lightening.

@ossobuco,
Dog o'My Heart has a new Ranger Rib.

I didn't know she could do stand up leaps before yesterday when we got her nails clipped and I bought two of the rib bones, opening one after she settled in at home. Roger had left by then, so he missed it.

The last time, which was also the first time I gave her one, I considered her avid. She knawed on it for almost a week (I kept it in the fridge at night), and I finally tossed it.

This time, she's all avid right away. Has already smashed, chewn, and demolished a third of the bone.
So, I called the shop, which told me these bones are right for this.

The second one is hidden on top of the refrigerator, still wrapped. I'll wait before I bring it forth, probably two weeks - mid nail clips. The third time, she might jump to the ceiling.

@ossobuco,
She also excels at standing in one place and panting with great enthusiasm.

I made a new batch of doggie biscuits. Well, ok, doggie balls. They are just made of whole wheat flour, quik oats, ground flax, canola, egg, milk, parsley, and mint. No sugar, no salt.

Katy luvvvvvs them. Much more than her kibble.
Hmmm.

Meanwhile, the big tailed floozy is still enthused about some little scampering thing in the back yard.. that she never catches.

So I've taken a bunch of photos (more to go on the roll of film). I'm new at this walgreen's camera business and have low hopes but assuming anything comes out, I'll post some. Meantime, Katydid is avoidant, she doesn't like the flash and is fast at getting away.

The good news is that I now have iPhoto and can soon add stuff from my digital camera, so I'll play with that next.

Next time Roger is in town, I may be up to snuff on the digital camera and get Roger to hold her. This may mean that you see Roger's shoes.

Oh, by the way, those were very miserable meatballs. Shitteroo.

Nice waitress though.

Observation:

Lady with the Shedding Skirts is eating her breakfast later and later each day.
She still wakes me up around 6 a.m. for a facial scratching (of herself) and hugs.

She's lovely, osso.
Who could possibly say no to a doggy face like that?
I knew a dog, years ago, who looked very much like Katy. Her name was Suzie.
