@RABEL222,
That's pretty original, Rabel.

How about addressing this?

Quote:
Yeah, it was "worth" the slaughter of 3 million Vietnamese who never wanted the US there in the first place, plus the deaths of maybe a million Cambodians and Laotians which opened the door to the slaughter of many more by the US aided and supported Pol Pot.

@JTT,
I'll give you this much: after some point, the civilian population was more afraid of us than the Viet Cong. That's a pretty strong prescription for losing.

That's absolute crap, Roger. The people of Vietnam, from the get go, supported Ho Chi Minh. The US, thru the CIA, did what it has done in so many countries of the world - create a puppet government that never had the support of the people.

But don't give me anything. Just stand up for what's right. Y'all had no business whatsoever trying to replace French hegemony with US hegemony. You had no business wrecking a country, stealing people's dreams and lives just to allow the US to steal their wealth.

As a clear illustration of just how morally vacant way too many of you are, note that the murder of some four million SE Asians boils down, for you, to "losing".

@panzade,
Where did I write that Nixon's convictions were beneficial to the nation? What I did write was that he had more convictions than Obama.

They do share a lust for power though, and Obama is every bit the imperial president Nixon was.

Obama is leading with a "steady hand?"

@roger,
I never expected to hear such a rational reply from you, Roger.

Which part did you disagree with - the part where another of your canards was blown out of the water or the part where you had to have a good look in the mirror?

Gee, yet another Roger "rational" reply.

I don't intend 'shocking'. The truth is enough for me, but obviously it's much too much for you.

The shocking part, the truly shocking part, is the charade that you and folks like you carry on here day after day. Knowing the facts and you still go on with your discussions about who will be your next war criminal in office.

You're hardly the first to try that lame line, Rog. It has come, from people like you, who are completely unable to address the actual issues - the US as a terrorist state, the US as a rogue nation, the US as a country that commits war crimes frequently and with great abandon.

Is this the change Obama spoke of when he was campaigning?

Is this the change Obama promised?

NO.

Nowhere. Where did I say that you did?

Oh there.

More convictions than Obama? I don't see it. Maybe Eisenhower and Truman, but not Nixon. Christ, the dude was almost impeached for malfeasance in office.

I say "steady hand" at the tiller when you take into account the mess he inherited and his handling of foreign affairs. But that's just my opinion.

@panzade,
Here's something interesting about the Reagan administration. From Wiki.

Quote:
Reagan administration scandals
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any US president.[1]
