I expect Obama will continue to pitch all sorts of things just to get himself elected to a second term.
He is also quite good at setting fires just to stir the pudding and cause an uproar with certain groups.
I suspect this is a tactic meant to distract folks from what he's really doing without legal support...

Reasoning that Obama is too conservative to vote for , startles me, but ultimately any liberal who decides not to vote for Obama is doing so because they recognize the lack of integrity in the man.

He is a liar who will say or do anything to remain in power.

His lies are Legion.

Even Nixon had more convictions than Obama.

Except for Carter, Nixon was the most liberal president we have had, after Johnson.

@edgarblythe,
Nixon did stop the war in Vietnam, that's got to be worth something.

@izzythepush,
Nixon only stopped the war, because, after he expanded it and still could not win it, he had no choice but to declare some sort of win and get out.

@izzythepush,
Campaigning, Nixon said, "I have a secret plan to end the war." Turns out, the plan was to fight it twice as hard as did LBJ.

@izzythepush,
Yeah, it was "worth" the slaughter of 3 million Vietnamese who never wanted the US there in the first place, plus the deaths of maybe a million Cambodians and Laotians which opened the door to the slaughter of many more by the US aided and supported Pol Pot.

Listen to these two pieces of scum discussing blowing innocents into oblivion.

Quote:

"We can bomb the bejesus out of them all over North Vietnam."

Washington, D.C., December 23, 2008 - Amidst a massive bombing campaign over North Vietnam, Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon candidly shared their evident satisfaction at the “shock treatment” of American B 52s, according to a declassified transcript of their telephone conversation published for the first time today by the National Security Archive. “They dropped a million pounds of bombs,” Kissinger briefed Nixon. “A million pounds of bombs,” Nixon exclaimed. “Goddamn, that must have been a good strike.” The conversation, secretly recorded by both Kissinger and Nixon without the other’s knowledge, reveals that the President and his national security advisor shared a belief in 1972 that the war could still be won. “That shock treatment [is] cracking them,” Nixon declared. “I tell you the thing to do is pour it in there every place we can…just bomb the hell out of them.” Kissinger optimistically predicted that, if the South Vietnamese government didn’t collapse, the U.S. would eventually prevail: “I mean if as a country we keep our nerves, we are going to make it.”

@JTT,
True true JTT but what disturbs me more is that finn holds the convictions of Richard Milhous to be more beneficial to our country than the steady hand at the helm of our present jefe.
I mean we're talking about a guy who with his henchmen almost upset the balance of the three branches of government..

Let's review from Congress For Kids
Quote:
Delegates at the Constitutional Convention also wanted to divide power within the federal government. They did not want these powers to be controlled by just one man or one group. The delegates were afraid that if a small group received too much power, the United States would wind up under the rule of another dictator or tyrant.

To avoid the risk of dictatorship or tyranny, the group divided the new government into three parts, or branches: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch.

@panzade,
Nothing wrong with the way our government is set up. the problem comes from the fact that politicians are much more loyal to party than to the people they are supposed to represent. O and of course money.

If something works this badly, Rabel, then you have to consider that the setup has inherent problems.

@JTT,
The setup of government isn't the problem; it's the people who run it, and how they are influenced by money. It's the failure of humans, not the concept of democracy.

The concept of democracy is a failed concept

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with, can you give me some examples of alternate forms of government that aren't failed?

@JTT,
You sometimes have concepts that are generally accepted by most humans.

Your extreme hatred of the US shows how bigoted you really are. That's because you have no personal human weakness or made any mistakes in life.

Your personal life must be perfect; a concept you alone hold.

What a funny way for Obama to exploit democracy - by winning an election of the American people.

We'll have to wait and see how it turns out. If he does indeed propose lowering the Corporate tax rate without getting rid of enough loopholes to continue raising the same or more in taxes from these corporations, I'll be pretty pissed off.

I suspect that it may be tied in some way to his proposal to reward companies who locate their workers here, instead of abroad.
