Also, doesn't "watermantard" have a good ring to it? LOL Besides, he has the brain of water; there's nothing there except all wet.

To Finn's credit, he has not been using "occutards" and when we first discussed this (in genuine good humor) many pages back, he said he was happy to let H20man have it--didn't want to cramp his style. I suggested "hashies" or "trashtags" playing on the groups social media presence. While these would have been equally bad, they would at least have been more creative IMHO.

I agree with the statement in general about the use of "teabaggers" being equally bad, and so it's not out of bounds to point out it is no less in poor taste. That's why I personally refrain from using such a term. So I say move on from the scoreboard on who calls what group what, and talk about the ideas, actions, goals, etc.

@cicerone imposter,
Mr. Soggy reminds me of some sort of artificial intelligence with his pat responses. Nothing sophisticated mind you, a sort of punch card set up from the 1970s, just smart enough to lose a game of tic tac toe to a chicken.

@roger,
Roger I fail to see your point - I haven't railed against Finn for name calling - read http://able2know.org/topic/178110-77#post-4830772 again.

and you replied to this post:

roger wrote:
I don't recall Finn, or myself for that matter ever saying "occutards". Does sound like a good thing to imply, though. As you say, he probably meant to.

I thought you were asking a genuine question about whether he'd ever raised it. He did raise it and I answered.

I have no idea how you got the idea I was accusing you (or of what) - and I certainly wasn't accusing Finn of anything occutard-related - I made it pretty clear that the term doesn't bother me - because he asked me if it did, then accused me of objecting to the term (which I don't) and accusing me of being 'a bit rich'.

I'm thinking you must be mixing me up with someone else too. Is there too much eggnog flying around on that side of the ditch? This has been a plain weird exchange - I feel like I'm in an episode of Quantum Jump.

@failures art,
If I cant call them teabaggers what can I call them? Tools of the conservative far right. Tools of the 1%. I think I will stick with teabaggers.

@hingehead,
Don't be so hard on roger, hinge. He said "I don't recall." Some people get a pass for saying "I think." Smile

I have noticed that my local news sources have quit writing about OWS. Does this mean that the politicians, cops and the 1% have bought off the news sources in an attempt to make it look like the movement has died? I can still access news about them but the sites seem to be ones writen buy OWS sources.

@RABEL222,
Could be. Or it could also be that "In today's news, the occupiers continue to occupy" isn't very interesting television.

@RABEL222,
Their advertisers have probably threatened to pull Christmas ads if they continue to report on protests in front of their stores.

@Butrflynet,
That could be one good reason and I am sure that there are many other reasons but I do think for the most part they try to stay some what neutral so they can sell to all political parties unless you are fox news of course you do not really care.

Hard? Help me bejeezus. You in the eggnog too?

So he doesn't recall Finn doing something I never said he did.

I 'think' you're a bit of a tp.

Time for some levity!

Try this quick quiz:

Interactive quiz: how revolutionary were you in 2011?
Whether it was the thousands in Tahrir Square demanding the removal of President Mubarak or the hordes rioting London's streets, many of the key stories of 2011 were suffused with an undercurrent of protest. Take our quiz to find out if you channelled the spirit of Che Guevara in the year of revolt

@hingehead,
I tested the test out and it was quite accurate in my case. I was placed near the bottom edge of the lethargic inactive vector. I presume I had shown a slight interest in something or other.

Might have to run some test cases on that quiz.

@izzythepush,
I'm more than content to swill some chilled bubbly, but when it comes to earning a crust, I keep my dollars close to my chest. I'm more than willing to share the workload, but only for an agreed hourly rate, and no union rules.

Capitalist bastard, me. Not really. Just couldn't be arsed doing the bookwork for the tax dept.

I'm probably a champagne socialist, too. Smile
But I didn't finish the quiz, so I can't say for sure.
Too many Twitter references .... what Twitter usage signify? Apart from Twitter usage?
... and a few questions that I couldn't find any option I could tick.
