@Finn dAbuzz,
But I don't think much about you at all, Finn! Smile

Apart from the fact that you have contributed to making this thread a rather ugly place today ....

What have we learned from this day?

If that's all you've learned, you still have light years to go, T2L.

@Brandon9000,
Quote:
After this, the USA went on to wage a justified war. Few people in history have maintained that a country cannot strike back after being attacked, so you don't have much company there. As for the people killed in our entirely justifed war in Afghanistan, most were killed by Afhgans, not by the US.

Lies, lies and more lies, Brandon, you sick piece of ****! You bring enormous disrespect upon those who died in 9-11 by continuing with these horrid lies.

@hingehead,
Ah yes, a corporate incubus on the back of a genuine tragedy. Ain't capitalism a wonderful thing ? ! ? ! ?

@Setanta,
Yeah, pretty cruddy. What we saw of the ceremony at ground zero seemed quite dignified fortunately. GWB reading Abe Lincoln didn't quite gel (the texas drawl not matching my hollywood-flavoured expectations of how 'Honest Abe' would speak).

Apologies on behalf of Australia for Sam Stosur's apparent disregard for the high esteem in which we hold the ANZUS treaty.

The disciple Peter asks Jesus, "How many times must I forgive one who sins against me?"

Not seven times, Jesus tells him, but 77 — in the vernacular of the time, forever.

@Builder,
Actually the correct amount from Matthew 18:22 would be 70 times 7, which gives us 539.

Yours was an entirely admirable post which I "thumbed up" without hesitation.

I may have foiled your valid argument by responding to manored, but his/her utterly mendacious reply was too much to accept in the silence I promised myself about today.

I apologize wandeljw, but sometimes it is necessary to squash the cockroaches.

No apology necessary. You were reacting to the callousness of a few posters. Yesterday was the anniversary of the deaths of innocent victims.

@Sturgis,
7 X 70 = 539 does it? And you used to teach science. I've just got a lowly maths O level, but I make it 490.

@Builder,
If I hadn't made the correction another most likely would have. That should be apparent just from the general nature of this thread. I wasn't launching it as a reproach, simply making a correction.

@izzythepush,
My point was, the whole Islam versus Christian theme. Trouble is, Christ's teachings have so little to do with what is being tabled today as His work.

@Builder,
I think you make some very good points, unfortunately there are those who get too tied up in the minutiae to see that.

@izzythepush,
I'm tired of it, Izzy. Been on boards like this for over a decade. Like to check in now only occasionally to see who is shilling for whom. Interesting to see how things and people pan out over the years.
