Welcome to my world, deb. Those are my regular hours. My cats loved it.
How you feeling, kid?
Weird.
Yesterday was a weird day.
Got to work nice and early. We have meetings and ****...so I got up tp my office for the first time since I got sick at about 10 am. I started checking emails, then reached for the phone to start responding to everyone.
No phone.
I search desperately.....really, no phone.
Contact our business manager who doesn't respond. Deduce that my phone was moved by mistake to my new office....where I won't be until mid December.
I try to check in new office. Tacked me 45 minutes to find where a key to this office is. There is my phone....with many messages inndicated.
I decide it's worth experimenting to see if it will still work in my office.
In doing so I discover that the adaptor that made it possible to plug in phone in my office has been disappeared.
I make second attempt to find someone who is in charge of things like this. Eventually get hold of Wayne. He gives me an adaptor after I have searched in vain for his hidden office a long time. I trek back up to my office where I plug phone in. No service. By now it is 11.30. I am unable to do any work and admin keep sending me messages to call people.....although I informed them immediately I have no phone. I manage to sneak phones here and there to do some work
I call Wayne, who seems unable to work out what the problem might be. I inform our communications manager that logic suggests that my old line was switched off when the phone was moved and we need to get it switched back on. Wayne says he will try to ascertain if that is what happened by the end of the day, but warns me that he has no idea how long it will take to rectify the problem.
I email business manager for the third time, explaining that despite her reluctance to get involved I think she needs to be....especially as I actually need a phone to do my job, and we are going to decide what offices make the most sense for me to wander between until the problem is fixed.
This toads her into action and by the end of the day I have a mobile phone.
